SAS: Who Dares Wins 2021 release date: Instructors, contestants and news
The Channel 4 military training show returns this weekend.
It's been another extremely exciting series of Channel 4's military training series SAS: Who Dares Wins and it's very nearly time for this year's winner to be revealed.
Sunday's episode will see the remaining recruits put through their paces in the notorious interrogation stage, and SAS: Who Dares Wins instructor Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox has teased that it will be "even more brutal" than usual, telling RadioTimes.com that "there’s a nice little sting in the tail at the end, which will be a nice surprise to everyone."
Meanwhile Foxy also revealed that several of the challenges don't make it to air, explaining that due to "time constraints" a lot of the tasks have to be left on the cutting room floor.
A whopping 21 contestants have headed into remote Highland areas over the course of this series as they embark on a tough series of mental and physical tests.
While Ant Middleton departed the show earlier this year, this sixth series was filmed in 2020 and so the Chief Instructor has been appearing throughout this series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

SAS: Who Dares Wins 2021 release date
SAS: Who Dares Wins returned with its sixth series on Sunday 9th May at 9pm on Channel 4 and will conclude tonight, Sunday 13th June.
Filming on the series was completed last year, with Chief Instructor Ant Middleton telling RadioTimes.com in January: "We've got a series [of SAS: Who Dares Wins] and a celebrity series already in the bag, and there’s more planned."

Ant Middleton is back as the team's Chief Instructor for the upcoming episodes, with series six having been filmed before the SAS star parted ways with Channel 4.
As for the team of Directing Staff, Jason 'Foxy' Fox and Mark 'Billy' Billingham have returned to put the new line-up of recruits through their paces – however, Matthew 'Ollie' Ollerton and Jay Morton won't be appearing after both left the series last year.
Joining the SAS Who Dares Wins instructors as a new instructor is former soldier Melvyn Downes – an ex member of the Armed Forces who led operational tours in Iraq and Northern Ireland.

A new group of 21 men and women have headed into remote areas of Scotland to be subjected to one of the show's toughest selection courses yet.
The SAS Who Dares Wins 2021contestants list includes Esther (28) – a former stripper with a passion for fitness, lawyer Rebekah (43), Grenfell Tower firefighter Ricky (39), Irish dancer Connor (30) and circus artist Holly (32), who is the show's first ever transgender contestant.
They'll all be hoping to join the list of previous SAS Who Dares Wins winners, including James Priestly and Chris O.
Meanwhile, instructors Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham and Melvyn Downes have revealed a few famous faces they'd like to see take part in a future series of the celebrity edition.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Billy said “Ben Shepherd, Piers Morgan, Gordon Ramsay because I think they’d be good challenges. I mean Gordon’s a tough guy and I think he’d do well."
And Melvyn added, "I’d love Nigel Benn and Chris Eubanks, the boxers, I’d like them to both come on this show together because I’m a big boxing fan and I always remember the days when these guys boxed."

SAS: Who Dares Wins 2021 location
This year's series of SAS: Who Dares Wins was filmed in "the wilds of Scotland", with the recruits heading to the Scottish island of Raasay for their first challenge.
Over the course of the series, the contestants have been tasked with racing up a 4000-foot mountain, abseiling off an oil rig, exposed to extreme cold in a water immersion exercise and sent through a pitch-black disused tunnel.
Of course, the bunkers that the contestants are forced to stay in aren't known for being particularly luxurious, and long-time instructor Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox has revealed the Directing Staff bunkers are even “worse”.
When asked whether instructors sleep in similar conditions to the recruits, Foxy told RadioTimes.com: “Yes, similar. In fact, it’s worse.”
He added: “Our room is smaller and living with [Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham] is a real nightmare. I always sleep next to Billy for some reason.”

Before the series debut, Channel 4 released a clip of the sixth series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, which features one recruit seemingly falling down the side of a cliff, and others abseiling down what looks like a giant chimney. Ant Middleton can be heard shouting, "You're about to be in a whole world of pain!" There's also lots of tears all round.
The broadcaster also revealed a few first-look image from the upcoming episodes, including the shot below which sees the new recruits face-down in the mud.
