]]>Two years after it first debuted on Disney Plus in the UK, drama miniseries The Dropout is now coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The series stars Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced former CEO who was convicted of fraud in 2022, with the show charting the biotech entrepreneur’s fall from grace despite her assertions that her now-defunct corporation Theranos would revolutionise the medical world forever.
Ahead of the series initially debuting, Seyfried previously revealed that she never met with Holmes before playing her, telling Good Morning America: “I was never too concerned with us being on the wrong path because of all the research and [show creator] Liz Meriwether at the helm.
“This is our version of the story, and then real life is happening. And you’re like – you want to be involved but you don’t want to be too involved because you want to be able to serve the story.”
She added: “Being able to absorb the footage and mimic somebody and try to embody somebody that actually… there’s a template out there, is very exciting. I hate to say that because it’s a real person with real consequences and a real life – and I wish her well – I just, as an actor, very specifically, it was thrilling.”
Seyfried went on to win a number of awards for her performance, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe. However, she wasn’t the only star whose performance in the series was critically acclaimed.
The likes of Naveen Andrews (Lost) and includes supporting roles for Stephen Fry (Everything Now), Dylan Minnette (Scream) and Laurie Metcalf (Hacks) all received plaudits for their work in the show.
Read on for everything you need to know about The Dropout cast, including side-by-side comparisons with the real people they are portraying.
Who is Elizabeth Holmes? Elizabeth Holmes was the founder and CEO of now-defunct health technology company Theranos. She dropped out of California’s prestigious Stanford University to pursue development of a revolutionary device that could theoretically run dozens of health tests on a single drop of blood. A nice idea in concept, but one that was fundamentally unworkable with today’s technology. Nevertheless, she continued securing investment from some of the world’s richest people under false pretences, until a whistle-blower exposed that her company was not what it appeared to be.
Where have I seen Amanda Seyfried before? Seyfried first rose to fame in the cast of hit teen comedy Mean Girls, where she played the dim-witted Karen Smith. She followed that up with a main role on HBO drama Big Love, before returning to the big screen in 2008 for musical phenomenon Mamma Mia!, where she starred opposite Hollywood royalty Meryl Streep. Most recently, she earned acclaim for her performance in David Fincher’s Mank, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Who is Dr Phyllis Gardner? Dr Gardner is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, who crossed paths with Holmes during her brief time studying there and became an early sceptic of her scientific know-how. The aspiring inventor booked a meeting with Dr Gardner to pitch her first big idea – a patch that would detect infections in the human body and administer antibiotics as required – which the esteemed medical expert quickly dismissed as impossible. She was right.
Where have I seen Laurie Metcalf before? Metcalf has appeared in a number of popular American television shows, including Roseanne and its recent sequel The Conners, Desperate Housewives and The Big Bang Theory. On the big screen, she is known for roles in Uncle Buck, Scream 2, Lady Bird and the Toy Story franchise, where she provides the voice of Andy’s mother, Mrs Davis.
Who is Sunny Balwani? Sunny Balwani served as COO at Theranos for several years, working closely with Holmes during that time. What investors didn’t know is that they also had a romantic relationship outside of work, which came to an end around the same time as the company’s very public implosion. Balwani is due to stand trial on fraud charges later this year.
Where have I seen Naveen Andrews before? Andrews will be a familiar face to fans of science fiction, owing to his past roles on mystery drama Lost and Netflix’s Sense8. He also earned acclaim for his role in 1996 awards contender The English Patient.
Who is Dr Ian Gibbons? Dr Ian Gibbons was a biochemist who served as chief scientist at Theranos for a number of years, endeavouring to get the ambitious machine envisioned by Holmes up and running. His mental health began to take a turn for the worse when he was fired by Theranos, before being rehired in a reduced role, and later being subpoenaed to testify in a patent lawsuit against the company. He died of liver failure in 2013, days after attempting to take his own life.
Where have I seen Stephen Fry before? Fry rose to prominence through his comedy work, appearing in the cast of classic BBC sitcom Blackadder and later forming a double act with Hugh Laurie. On the big screen, his most notable projects include Gosford Park, V for Vendetta and The Hobbit trilogy. More recently, he played a fictional politician in Russell T Davies’ acclaimed AIDS drama It’s A Sin.
Who is George Shultz? George Shultz is the former United States Secretary of State, who served under President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s, and a very wealthy businessman. He is approached by Elizabeth Holmes in 2011 and soon becomes one of the strongest advocates for Theranos, but his grandson fears he is being taken advantage of.
Where have I seen Sam Waterston before? Waterston has been acting since the 1960s and has a long list of credits to his name. His recent projects include police procedural Law & Order, HBO drama The Newsroom and Netflix comedy Grace & Frankie.
Who is Tyler Shultz? Tyler Shultz is grandson to George, who gets him an internship at Theranos shortly after his graduation from Stanford University. While he is initially thrilled to be working for a lauded pioneer like Elizabeth Holmes, he soon realises things aren’t as they should be within her company. However, speaking out won’t be easy with the looming threat of devastating legal action and his own family smitten with the CEO – even hosting her 30th birthday party.
Where have I seen Dylan Minnette before? Minnette will be familiar to avid Netflix bingers as Clay Jensen on the hard-hitting teen drama 13 Reasons Why. He is also known for Denis Villeneuve drama Prisoners and a number of horror flicks, including Let Me In, Goosebumps, Don’t Breathe and 2022’s Scream reboot.
Who is Rochelle Gibbons? Rochelle Gibbons was married to Dr Ian Gibbons for almost 40 years and blames Theranos for his tragic death.
Where have I seen Kate Burton before? Burton is best known for her roles in US dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, both of which were created by Shonda Rhimes. More recently, she collaborated with the prolific television producer once more for Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna, another dramatisation of a true fraud story.
Who is Linda Tanner? Linda Tanner is an in-house lawyer at Theranos, who embraces the challenge of squashing the company’s detractors. While Tanner is one of the few fictional characters in the show, Watkins told RadioTimes.com her performance was inspired by a moment from HBO’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary The Inventor.
“I think it was one of those things in the bullpen where everybody was celebrating the moment that the FDA approved one aspect of their testing capabilities,” recalled Watkins. “And they were playing Pump Up the Volume and I saw this woman just sort of dancing like she was part of the cult, like drinking the Kool Aid. And I thought that’s who she is: she’s someone who is so excited to be on the winning team.”
Where have I seen Michaela Watkins before? Watkins has worked on several comedic projects, including Saturday Night Live, Casual, Search Party and New Girl, the last of which was created by The Dropout showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether.
Who is Charlotte Shultz? Charlotte Shultz was George’s second wife, with the pair being married in 1997. Previously, she was a wealthy socialite and philanthropist.
Where have I seen Anne Archer before? Archer is probably best known for her acclaimed performance in 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction, which earned her nominations at the Academy Awards and the BAFTAs, among others. She is also known for playing Barbara Reynolds in hit US comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Who is Erika Cheung? Erika is another Theranos employee hired fresh out of university, who became another key figure in exposing the company’s irresponsible practices. The stakes were particularly high for her, as she came from an underprivileged background and so could not rely on family wealth if the legal team came after her.
Where have I seen Camryn Mi-Young Kim before? This is the debut television role for Mi-Young Kim.
Who is John Carreyrou? John is an investigative reporter for the Wall Street Journal, who receives a tip-off about the dodgy procedures going on at Theranos and pursues the dangerous story.
What else has Ebon Moss-Bachrach been in? Moss-Bachrach is best known for his roles in HBO comedy-drama Girls, action-packed Marvel series The Punisher and, of course, kitchen comedy-drama The Bear.
Who is Rakesh Madhava? Rakesh was one of the first employees to be hired by Theranos and learned the hard way that their technology was far from what it was said to be.
Where have I seen Utkarsh Ambudkar before? Ambudkar had a banner year in 2021, bagging a lead role in the US adaptation of Ghosts alongside appearances in hit movies Free Guy and Tick, Tick… BOOM!. His earlier work includes Pitch Perfect and The Mindy Project.
Who is Edmond Ku? Edmond is another of the early employees at Theranos, who is put under immense pressure to get their blood-testing technology operational.
Where have I seen James Hiroyuki Liao before? Hiroyuki Liao is known for roles in US dramas Prison Break, Unforgettable and HBO’s Barry. Last year, he appeared in fantasy fare Cowboy Bebop and Snake Eyes, while he also has a motion capture role in Playstation video game Ghosts of Tsushima.
Who is Jay Rosen? Jay Rosen is a senior executive at American pharmacy chain Walgreens, who is keen to partner with Theranos on their retail expansion.
Speaking of his character, Ruck told RadioTimes.com: “He wanted to make one big splash before he hung up his spurs and I think that he met this young woman, found out about her and… he just wanted to believe it – I think almost as much as Elizabeth wanted to believe it.
“Because he was going to be a hero [and] he was going to get a hell of a retirement package out of that deal,” continued Ruck. “He just kind of sold out… and it’s a shame because he’s not a dumb guy. He’s a bright fellow, but he disregarded science, which as we know is a mistake.”
Where have I seen Alan Ruck before? Ruck appeared in several iconic movies in the ’80s and ’90s including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Speed and Twister. More recently, he has acquired a new generation of fans as part of the Succession cast, where he played Connor Roy.
Who is Richard Fuisz? Richard Fuisz is an inventor and entrepreneur who was a neighbour of the Holmes family during Elizabeth’s childhood and later became locked in a legal dispute with her company, Theranos.
Where have I seen William H. Macy before? Macy is best known for starring in the American version of comedy-drama Shameless, which ran for an impressive 11 seasons on US broadcaster Showtime. Previously, he had appeared in medical drama ER. On the big screen, he is known for awards contenders Fargo and Room (starring Captain Marvel‘s Brie Larson), as well as blockbuster Jurassic Park III.
Who is Ana Arriola? Ana is a prolific product designer, who Holmes approaches to transform Theranos products after being impressed by their work at Apple.
Where have I seen Nicky Endres before? Endres has previously appeared in Netflix sitcom One Day At a Time.
Who is Noel Holmes? Noel Holmes is Elizabeth’s mother and a supportive figure in her life.
Where have I seen Elizabeth Marvel before? Marvel has appeared in a number of acclaimed television shows, including House of Cards, Homeland, Fargo and Unbelievable. On the big screen, she has a similarly strong track record, with lauded projects including Burn After Reading, True Grit, Lincoln, A Most Violent Year and Netflix drama The Meyerowitz Stories.
Who is Judith Baker? Judith Baker is a senior editor at the Wall Street Journal.
Where have I seen LisaGay Hamilton before? Hamilton is best known for her television roles on legal drama The Practice and political thriller House of Cards. Her film projects include 12 Monkeys, Vice and biopic Lovelace, the last of which also starred Amanda Seyfried.

]]>Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly on the cusp of signing on as the next James Bond, following years of speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig in the legendary role.
The actor has been rumoured to be in contention for 007 since last January, but The Sun now claims that he will formally accept the gig this week.
A source told the tabloid: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.
“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
The publication went on to claim that a script for the next James Bond film is currently in the works, with an eye to start filming later this year.
Of course, it would be wise to take these developments with a pinch of salt for now, as comments from anonymous showbiz sources can sometimes prove to be inaccurate.
RadioTimes.com has reached out to Eon and Amazon MGM for comment.
Speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond dates back to 2015, as the actor initially intended for Spectre to be his last appearance as the character – before donning the tux one last time for 2021’s No Time to Die.
Taylor-Johnson is certainly a believable choice for the project, with a strong track record in action blockbusters such as Godzilla, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Bullet Train, as well as smaller projects including Kick-Ass and Nocturnal Animals.
That last film, a dark psychological thriller directed by Tom Ford, is what bagged Taylor-Johnson his Golden Globe, with his recognition as a serious actor apparently boosting his Bond chances (according to The Sun’s report).
Alas, there’s a risk that his reputation could take a slight ding later this year when Kraven the Hunter hits cinemas – a film garnering low expectations from cinephiles due to the preceding Sony-produced Marvel bombs Madame Web and Morbius.
However, it could very well be an uptick in fortunes for the Spider-Man-adjacent franchise, with acclaimed director JC Chandor (All is Lost, A Most Violent Year) at the helm. Hopefully, he can bring some of his artistic sensibility to the comic book adaptation.
Taylor-Johnson could also be regarded a disappointingly safe choice by some Bond fans, given calls for the spy to be played by a person of colour in his next iteration – with Idris Elba, Daniel Kaluuya and Henry Golding among the suggested choices.
RadioTimes.com will bring you the latest updates on this developing story as they come in.

]]>Across this week, new Channel 5 drama Coma is set to take viewers on quite the journey.
Jason Watkins stars as family man Simon in the new four-parter, which sees his character dealt quite a bad hand when it comes to life issues – Simon’s job hangs in the balance, he wants to move away with his family and a group of teenagers have turned his idyllic little neighbourhood upside down with their antics.
Making a split-second decision, Simon’s world caves in further as he takes matters into his own hands when it comes to gang leader Jordan (Joe Barber), leading to a pretty messy fallout that is expected to unfold across the remaining episodes.
But is the new drama based on a true story? Read on to find out.
Coma is not based on a true story – but it is “loosely based” on something that happened to series creator and writer Ben Edwards.
Speaking ahead of the release of the series, Edwards revealed in a press pack for the show: “It’s loosely based on something that happened to me, although nothing as dramatic as what happens in Coma.
“A few years ago, when my daughter was a toddler, I took her to a local playground, and it had been vandalised. There were broken beer bottles all over the slides and it made me furious, it really got to me.
“That night I was watching TV and I heard a noise outside. I looked out of the window and a group of lads aged about 16/17 were smashing supermarket trollies into the wing mirrors of cars.
“Now, I am an utter coward, but I totally lost it. I went out and started yelling at them and before I knew it, they were yelling back and surrounding me and I was thinking, ‘This is getting out of control.’
“The whole thing ended in what I can only describe as an undignified scuffle. Utterly pathetic. No one got hurt. They went away. I went back inside. My wife just said, ‘What on earth were you thinking? Haven’t you ever watched the news?’ and that was the moment of inspiration.”
Edwards continued: “This was something I discussed with Alex Smith from Roughcut TV, the production company that made Coma. And together we set about creating the world and the characters.
“We started thinking about those times in life when you lose control. About a single moment that could change your life forever. We talked about those ‘one punch killings’ where a punch is swung, someone is knocked to the ground and bangs their head and either dies or has life changing injuries.”
There are, of course, a plethora of real-world issues in the new series that will feel relatable for many people.
As we see unfold, Simon is faced with the prospect of redundancy and wants to move away after an increase in crime makes him and his wife Beth (Claire Skinner) feel unsafe in their area.
The show deals with themes like the cost of living crisis, policing and unemployment, and when chatting to RadioTimes.com and other press about how “political” Coma actually is, Skinner admitted: “It absolutely is of our time.”
As we saw in episode 1, Beth makes a reference about the “good days” of people clapping for the NHS as an overworked NHS worker herself.
Watkins explained: “It’s interesting, isn’t it? If you look at recent successes and things like the Post Office programme [Mr Bates vs The Post Office], which had such a huge impact [and] was absolutely bang on the nose about how a lot of us were feeling about the way that some companies are run or the state things are run. It is specific to the Post Office.
“The obvious parallel is the NHS, isn’t it? How we’re all emotionally attached to the NHS and we want it to do better, but it’s complex.”
Watkins added: “This is a thriller, but you want it to be real, so why not have some of the ideas that are floating around at the moment? That’s a sign of a good writer, it’s a sign of a mature script. So yes, you’ve got a thriller, but Beth… that line about [the NHS].”
Skinner continued: “Clapping for the NHS, I liked it better – can we go back to the good old days when we just used to clap for the NHS? There are those comments, of course.
“The premise of it is that these two people who have both got jobs, have both got fairly decent jobs, are desperate to get out of the area that they live in for somewhere safer to bring up their children.”
Aside from comments about the state of healthcare in the UK, there are plenty of other problems that the married couple are faced with in the series.
Watkins said: “Of course, you scratch the surface, and they’ve had difficulty conceiving, they’re slightly vulnerable in terms of money, and so we’re on a slight knife edge.
“I’m not saying there’s a crime epidemic, but because of the cost of living crisis, crime is up. Those really petty little crimes – scratching your car, turning the bins over and little stuff, it’s just really annoying, I think, and when you’re stressed from other things, those things get magnified.
“I think that’s why we end up where we end up where Simon does.”
Coma continues on Channel 5 and My5 tonight, with episodes airing at 9pm from Monday to Thursday. Check out more of our Drama coverage or visit our TV Guide and Streaming Guide to find out what’s on.

While not conclusive, that wording certainly suggests that the game could eventually launch on PC, joining many of Sony’s other PS5 exclusive titles. Time will tell on this front, though.
Rise of the Ronin is a PS5 exclusive because it is being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony is not in the habit of releasing its games on other consoles outside of its PlayStation brand.
It’s even had its development assisted by Sony XDEV Studio, a studio which helps out a lot of “second-party” games such as this.
Following on from Nioh and Nioh 2, Rise of the Ronin is the third PlayStation console exclusive developed by Team Ninja.
The Japanese studio has a history of developing exclusive games. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 was a Switch exclusive back in 2019, Fire Emblem Warriors was Nintendo exclusive – as was Hyrule Warriors and Metroid: Other M.
Team Ninja’s earlier releases from 2001 through to 2006 were all Xbox exclusives.
It’s a bit of a surprise when a Team Ninja game is multiplatform, as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty both were.
Rise of the Ronin is launching on 22nd March 2024 as a PS5 console exclusive, which suggests that it may (at some point) be released on PC.
Sony’s console-exclusive games have been releasing on PC after at least a year of console exclusivity for a while now.
Rise of the Ronin could well be the next PlayStation game to launch on PC, following on from the likes of both Horizon games, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, God of War, Days Gone and now Ghost of Tsushima.
A similar situation happened with both Nioh and Nioh 2, too. Both Team Ninja games were PlayStation console exclusives published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and both launched a little later on PC.
We’d be surprised if the same thing doesn’t happen with Rise of the Ronin at some point. Don’t expect it to launch on Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch or the heavily rumoured Nintendo Switch 2, however.
Now you know you can’t play Rise of the Ronin on the Xbox, Switch or even PS4, we thought we’d list off a few games that should capture its vibe that you can enjoy right now.
Here’s our picks for the best alternatives to Rise of the Ronin on other platforms:
Probably the closest game in terms of vibes and gameplay to Rise of the Ronin is Ghost of Tsushima. This should scratch that samurai itch if you only have a PS4 or can play it on a PC.
Set in China, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is another great souls-like developed by Team Ninja. This can be played on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. If you’re up for a challenge it’s worth a go.
Sekiro captures the Japanese setting of Rise of the Ronin and its challenging parry-based combat for sure. It also helps that it’s really good (when does FromSoftware miss?). It’s not open-world, but you can forgive that.
While not precisely the same thing, the open-world action-RPG gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, will supply the epic adventure you’re craving on Nintendo Switch.

]]>The Russian Revolution and the turmoil that followed once proved rich territory for film-makers, from David Lean’s Doctor Zhivago to Warren Beatty’s Reds. But we haven’t seen that much of revolutionary Russia on screen in recent years, possibly because the Russia we know today has more than enough drama going on in real time.
But that changes this week on Paramount+ when Ewan McGregor becomes Count Alexander Ilyich Rostov, the leading man in Amor Towles’s bestseller A Gentleman in Moscow.
McGregor makes a wonderful Count, who is locked in a gilded cage after he strikes a deal with his Bolshevik captors to escape the firing squad as long as he doesn’t leave his grand hotel. It’s a story of confinement and romance as Rostov falls for a film star, Anna Urbanova, who is played by McGregor’s wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
What’s it like to play opposite your other half on screen? And how does that affect your performance, not least your approach to sex scenes? McGregor answers all these questions in a revealing interview in this issue, in which he also talks about family, his four daughters, accents and, of course, Star Wars.

]]>*WARNING – CONTAINS FULL SPOILERS FOR ALL EIGHT EPISODES OF THE GENTLEMEN*
Guy Ritchie’s new series The Gentlemen has reached an explosive end.
A spin-off of his 2020 film of the same name, the series stars Theo James as Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who inherits his late father’s country estate – only to make the shocking discovery that it’s part of a cannabis empire.
Horniman is soon thrust into the treacherous criminal underworld, where he encounters a host of gangsters and dangerous criminals.
So, how did the new Netflix series conclude? Read on for everything you need to know about the show’s ending, as well as what one of the show’s stars had to say about the show’s barnstorming cliffhanger ending.
The final episode started with Eddie and the rest of the Horniman family preparing, as their home was surrounded by Gospel John and his gang.
They has been told by Suzie that Freddy had been lying to them, and he had actually killed Tommy Dixon. Suzie had been looking for revenge as she believed Eddie had betrayed them.
However, Bobby already knew Eddie’s plans, and ordered Suzie to fix what she had done, and to keep Eddie safe and happy. Bobby ended up sorting it himself.
Eddie and Suzie went to speak with Bobby and discuss the situation with Stanley Johnston. He had been the one putting sand in the gears of their organisation all season, so he could buy the land and the business from Eddie and Bobby.
Bobby revealed he planned to sell anyway, and that Johnston and others would have to put in sealed bids, transported by carrier pigeon to him. He would accept offers over $150 million.
Read more:
Eddie and Suzie sat down with Johnston, and he believed he was entering the negotiations from a position of strength, as one of Suzie’s staff had leaked the location of their other weed farms.
However, this was actually a ruse Eddie devised, tricking Johnston’s lawyer Stevens. He had made a critical error of not verifying the information.
Following this, Eddie and Suzie met with other potential buyers – Mercy Moreno and Peter Spencer-Forbes.
However, Eddie secretly also started working on putting his own bid together, raising money from other aristocrats and those from the travelling community who he had made a deal with previously.
He then approached Henry Collins, who had been cut loose by Johnston and who was now a target of the Glass family, for additional funds, and brought Suzie on as a partner.
In the end, Johnston was the highest bidder. However, Collins’s accountant knew how to prove Johnston’s illegal dealings through his tax records, and sent them to HMRC. Johnston was arrested, with Stevens looking on shocked.
Stevens is played by Alexis Rodney, who spoke with RadioTimes.com about this reveal, and the other reveals regarding Johnston and Stevens towards the end of the season.
He said: “As an actor, that’s what you want. You want those absolute cliffhanger episodes. I’ve talked about Stevens being a highly intelligent guy, valedictorian, all that good stuff, scholarly guy.
“It’s a really bad mistake, actually, and I suppose we don’t really touch on it enough because the next time we cut to Stevens and Stanley Johnson, Stanley’s being arrested.
“I would have loved to have delved into what the aftermath was, because Stevens is basically the downfall of Stanley Johnson. So, I would have loved to have dealt with that if we had more time and a route they wanted to go down, what the aftermath was.”
Spencer-Forbes’s bid came in second, but Eddie told Moreno, who was under pressure herself to ensure her bid won. She killed Spencer-Forbes, and was immediately taken out herself by Collins, working for Eddie.
So, Eddie and Suzie had won. However, there was one last sting in the tail. It turned out Bobby never intended to sell in the first place, and he instead wanted to “wake them up” to the opportunities. The three of them would there on out be equal partners.
Eddie then delivered Collins to Suzie, bound and on his knees, and handed her a gun. She asked him if he wanted to do it as part of his “journey” and he obliged, killing him instantly.
A final scene saw Bobby meeting with Johnston in ‘prison’, talking about their prospects.
So, going into a potential season 2, it looks like Johnston and Bobby could be in business after all. But one thing’s for certain, and that’s that Eddie is now truly all in on the criminal life.
At the end of the series, Bobby Glass notes that Susie and Eddie have become a “right double act”.
However, the pair never actually transition from being friends and colleagues into anything more.

]]>Prime Video’s teen romcom How to Date Billy Walsh finally has a full trailer, starring Heartstopper‘s Sebastian Croft and Bridgerton‘s Charithra Chandran as misfit classmates looking for love.
Archie (Croft) is hiding a long-held unrequited love for his best friend, Amelia (Chandran), while her sights are firmly set on the popular American exchange student Billy Walsh (played by Cobra Kai star Tanner Buchanan).
In a series of escalating schemes, Archie attempts to keep Amelia and Billy from getting close, but many of his ideas backfire and he risks losing the person he holds most dear.
It’s a classic love triangle, with a starry supporting cast including Nick Frost (Fighting with My Family), Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory) and Lucy Punch (Motherland).
Check out the trailer below and watch How to Date Billy Walsh from Friday 5th April 2024 on Prime Video.
Croft recently wowed fans of young adult dramas with his supporting role in Heartstopper, where he played the abusive ex-boyfriend of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke).
How to Date Billy Walsh will give the Game of Thrones and Doom Patrol alum a chance to show his lighter side, with Bridgerton breakout Chandran sure to be a charming screen partner.
Fans of Netflix’s wildly popular period drama will recognise her as Edwina Sharma, the half-sister of Simone Ashley’s Kathani (aka ‘Kate’), who appeared throughout the show’s second season.
The trailer shows both Archie and Amelia attempting to overcome their nerdy reputations, with the former seeming to provide some fourth wall-breaking narration as things spiral out of control.
The original Prime Video film is directed by Alex Pillai, who has previously worked on other young adult projects including Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Relative newcomers Greer Ellison and Alexander J Farrell penned the script.

]]>Guy Ritchie is back with another crime caper titled The Gentlemen on Netflix.
A spin-off of his 2020 film, the series follows Eddie Horniman (The White Lotus‘s Theo James), the son of an aristocrat who unexpectedly inherits his father’s country estate – which also happens to be part of a cannabis empire.
Across the eight-part series, Eddie and the rest of the show’s cast visit some breathtaking locations across the series’ run, including his family home: the beloved Halstead Manor.
Wondering where exactly The Gentlemen was filmed and whether you can visit the filming locations? Read on for everything you need to know.
There were 80 locations used in the series, most of which were “real-life backdrops”. These include:
Halstead Manor, where Eddie and his brother Freddie (Daniel Ings) were raised, was filmed at Gloucestershire’s Badminton House.
Speaking about Halstead Manor, co-writer and executive producer Matthew Read said it “sets the tone of The Gentlemen“. He also described it as “another character in the show”.
“It also connects to the history of aristocracy and to one of the show’s key themes of class. So as soon as Eddie turns up at Halstead, you understand so much about his character, his background and his life.
“And when the cocaine dealing scousers arrive there, the contrast between the two worlds is laid out right before you. It’s a brilliant shortcut to the heart of the story.”
“Badminton felt immediately right for Halstead because it’s a proper, lived-in home, rather than a National Trust museum,” said location manager Iggy Ellis.
“So inside there’d be some walking sticks by the door or a few shotgun rounds from where they’d been out shooting. There were cracks and tired bits, as you’d get in every family home. But there was also [an] oil painting and history and majesty. It felt perfect for our story.”
Ings added: “When it comes to capturing the essence of aristocracy, they [the locations] do a lot of the work for you.
“When you’re in those vast halls with their antiques and their huge 15ft oil paintings, you can’t help but get a sense of all the privilege and the history and the beauty.
“And when you’re standing there in a dressing gown with a vape and a shotgun, it also really helps to ram home that clash of styles.”
If you’re a fan of period dramas then you might recognise Badminton House from its appearances in other shows such as Bridgerton and The Pursuit of Love.
The property offers accommodation for visitors wanting to stay the night, which you can book on Booking.com.
While the series was mainly filmed at Badminton House, a few scenes are shot at this Tudor house, which was the hero location in Ritchie’s 2020 film.
Fans can visit the home and gardens during the summer months.
Alperton Studios (in London) was used to “create some of the interiors”, such as a council flat in Croydon where Eddie “gets physical with one of Tommy Dixon’s goons”.
“You could never have filmed that scene in a real council flat because it doesn’t have the space,” said production designer Martyn John.
“So we built one three times the size with a corridor, a lift, a kitchen and a bedroom, and put a photographic backdrop at the window.
“When you watch the show, you’ll hopefully believe you’re in an actual council flat. I was really pleased with it.”
In the series, tycoon Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) has an estate of his own. This was filmed at the neo-Palladian English country house of Wrotham Park, a location which also features in The Crown and Bridgerton season 2.
Wrotham Park is not open to the public but can be booked for private events.
The Mayfair private members’ club doubles as Pinky’s Club in the series, where Eddie meets Stanley Johnston.
You’ll need a membership to access the club, unfortunately, but you can get a pretty good luck inside by watching the show.
The illegal boxing fight in episode two of The Gentlemen was shot at Rotherhithe’s Printworks in London.
Other locations in London include Canary Wharf’s Billingsgate Market, The Sekforde pub in Clerkenwell, and St Paul’s Church in Southwark.
Read more:
“We were also shooting in Oxfordshire at this house that’s meant to be the home of Lord Whitecroft, who has also leased his land to the gangsters, and it’s a crumbling castle with a moat around it,” said Daniel Ings (who plays Freddy).

]]>Fans of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels assemble: Guy Ritchie is back with another crime caper, titled The Gentlemen.
The new Netflix series is a spin-off of his 2020 film of the same name, which starred Matthew McConaughey navigating the dangerous world of running a marijuana empire besieged on all sides by villainous gangsters.
Now that a TV series has landed on Netflix, naturally viewers are wondering how Guy Ritchie’s 2020 film and the new series are connected.
So, is there is a direct connection between the two, and do they share any cast members or characters? Read on for everything you need to know.
The original film and the new series share themes and a similar central set-up, but that is it.
Speaking about how the new series is set in the same world as the film, Ritchie previously told Netflix Tudum: “We’re looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories, and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast.”
The Netflix series also tells a story which is similar in some ways to that told in the film. The film focused on a cannabis baron who was growing his product under the estates of aristocrats, all of whom needed cash for the upkeep of their stately homes. The series, meanwhile, follows one of those aristocrats, whose land is being used by a different cannabis baron in the same way.
However, that is as far as the connections go. The characters are all different and the story the series tells differs to the one told in the film.
Meanwhile Daniel Ings, who plays Freddie Horniman in the series, spoke with RadioTimes.com exclusively, and explained how he would describe the connection between the show and the film.
He said: “I would say that it kind of shares the DNA of the movie. It takes that idea of gangsters getting into bed with, going into business with the rich aristocracy, who have these huge empires and all this land, but really no cash, no disposable cash, so they’re leasing the land.
“And I think it takes that idea from the movie and expands on it and goes, ‘Well, who are these people that have these crumbling empires and who are clinging on to the past, but need these gangsters, need these modern criminals in order to stay afloat?’
“So, it’s obviously a key part of the film, but the series I think takes that element of it and grows it like a fine weed farm.”
Meanwhile, Max Beesley, who plays Henry Collins in the show, added: “The only similar nuance is the drug, really… the marijuana. I think it’s a different beast, but there are the same nuances in there.
“There is comedy, there’s action, there’s drama in there, but we’ve got new characters introduced, new actors introduced, who all in their own right are terrific, strong, strong performers.
“And so, for fans of the film, they’re getting a double bubble, really, but they’re getting eight episodes, which is terrific.”
No, they don’t. While some fans may have been hoping for a cameo from Matthew McConaughey’s Mickey or Michelle Dockery as Rosalind, neither appear, and nor do any of the film’s other stars or characters.
The show is, instead, a complete clean slate, starring the likes of Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Ray Winstone, Max Beesley and Giancarlo Esposito.

One key player in the series is now Lady Ochiba (Atsuko Sano), who seems more involved than ever with the decisions concerning her son’s future.
Elsewhere, John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis) and Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai) struggle to contain a secret that could very well get them both killed.
The series has continued to go from strength to strength since its release last month, and already fans are looking ahead to whether season 2 could potentially be on the cards.
In what will likely be disappointing news for those with their fingers crossed, show co-creator Justin Marks has said that the prospect is looking unlikely.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “We took the story to the end of the book and put a period at the end of that sentence.”
He added: “We love how the book ends; it was one of the reasons why we both knew we wanted to do it — and we ended in exactly that place.”
The series is based on the James Clavell novel of the same name, and although we’re already five episodes in, there’s plenty more to come – with the show so far giving us just a taste of the deception, intrigue and action we can expect more of.

]]>It was St Patrick’s Day in the Celebrity Big Brother house last night, with the house decorated to the nines to celebrate the holiday. From tutus to Guinness, the housemates were treated, but the mood soured when it was time to nominate.
One housemate was at risk of an immediate eviction before the luck of the Irish came their way. But who?
Missed out on all the action? We’ve got you covered.
From the latest shock twists, nail-biting nominations and jaw-dropping evictions, RadioTimes.com is here to give you a recap of every episode of Celebrity Big Brother.
The housemates celebrated St Patrick’s Day last night on Celebrity Big Brother and the housemates all took part in a day of celebrations.
The house had been transformed with green tinsel, multicoloured balloons and orange and white bunting to mark the occasion. But the excitement didn’t stop there, Big Brother supplied green tutus, waistcoats and top hats galore so the housemates could look the part.
Later that day, Big Brother called for one of the housemates to go to the Diary Room and it was Fern who went to see what they wanted.
As she entered the Diary Room, Fern found a pot of gold on the chair with a red toy snake on top.
She was told: “Fern, you’ve just found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. That means you’ve been granted one wish, the biggest wish of all.
“You must choose one housemate to be evicted. St Patrick famously banished the snakes from Ireland, and now by finding the pot of gold, you have been selected to banish a housemate.”
To select the housemate she wanted to evict, Fern was told she had to secretly place the red snake on their pillow and she chose Louis Walsh’s pillow.

Afterwards, Louis was the first housemate to be called to nominate but before he was able to do so, he was told that he had been chosen by a fellow housemate to be evicted. But in a twist, Louis found a four leaf clover which meant he would not be evicted, and instead had won immunity from the next round of nominations.
This means Louis is the first Celebrity Big Brother 2024 finalist!
Elsewhere in the episode, the housemates had to nominate once more, and Colson believed Marisha to be playing a game.
“There’s been a couple of questionable things in the house in the past couple of days,” Colson said as he nominated Marisha.
He continued: “Firstly at the kissing booth, her reasons for nominating Ekin-Su, came across in a bit of a game playing way. Yesterday as part of the shopping task we had the courage element, I felt like I wanted to go forward and say ‘me’ and Marisha sat there in silence. It just made me feel like there might be, I don’t know… an agenda, a game.”
The nominations were revealed, which meant Fern, Marisha and Zeze are now facing eviction in tonight’s episode, along with Nikita, who volunteered to take on the killer nomination.
The Big Brother house was transformed into a twisted fairytale kingdom in which the housemates had to follow strict rules and conquer all the quests in order to win a luxury shopping budget.
The housemates had to order themselves from “good” to “evil”. Louis was positioned as the most evil Housemate followed by Zeze and as such they were allowed to take reign over the kingdom and spent the day ruling from the tower upstairs, along with plenty of arguments.
Later on, Louis and Zeze had to choose who they believed to be the three most “brainless” housemates. Louis and Zeze chose Nikita, David and Bradley and they headed to Wicked Big Brother’s tea party.
Big Brother asked each of the housemates a question and the answer matched an evil meal on the table. The housemates had to answer their question correctly and finish the meal on their plate.
The questions largely surrounding the celebrities’ nominations, and it was revealed to Fern that Nikita had voted for her on all three occasions – something that came as a shock.

Fern attempted to talk to Nikita but he didn’t look at her and hardy answered any of her questions, leaving fans confused about their tension.
Towards the end of the episode, evil step-Big Brother gathered the housemates at the toadstools and said: “Subjects, between yourselves you must now decide which one of you must bravely face the next public vote by receiving a killer nomination.”
Due to being the “rulers” of the kingdom, Louis and Zeze were unable to put their names forward.
After some back and forth, Nikita put himself forward and was given the killer nomination, meaning he will automatically face the next eviction.
After the events of the face-to-face nominations, things were still sour in the house but eventually Marisha and Ekin-Su made peace with one another.
In the kitchen, Marisha said to Ekin-Su: “How are you feeling now?” Ekin-Su replied: “Do me one favour – just let it go.”
Marisha said: “I’m going to let it go. But please can I just tell you that I’m sorry though.”
Ekin-Su said: “I’ve accepted it, it’s fine. I appreciate you being remorseful about it. And I just needed a bit of space. But I’m good now. We’re good now.”
Elsewhere in the episode, the housemates produced their own podcasts. Up first was David and Bradley and they discussed dating, relationships and everything in between.

— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 15, 2024
Bradley asked: “If you could go back to your younger self and say something, what would you say regarding relationship advice or anything?”
David replied: “I’d say you’re going to go through a bit of a s*** time at school. I definitely held back who I was as a person especially in school with the bullying and being gay. I was scared, I was a kid. I was scared to be who I truly was.”
Up next was Colson, Nikita, Levi and Louis in Boomers vs Boomers, followed by Ekin-Su, Fern, Marisha and Zeze.
A double live eviction loomed during Friday night’s episode, meaning two of the five nominated housemates were all at risk of being evicted from the Big Brother house.
In the end, hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best announced that Ekin-Su and Levi Roots were the two housemates evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Things went from wholesome to sour very quickly on Celebrity Big Brother last night, and that was down to the first face-to-face nominations of the series taking place!
The housemates were treated to a funfair themed day in the garden, in which Marisha Wallace was told she had been nominated for an Olivier Award! It seemed like a lovely day, right? Well, that soon changed when Big Brother assembled the housemates and told them they had to nominate two housemates face-to-face.
While majority of the votes went to Louis Walsh down to his “laziness”, a number of votes went to Ekin-Su.
Fern Britton nominated the reality TV star, admitting she doesn’t “get” Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
“I don’t get you, you don’t get me,” Britton began.
“I sometimes feel like you’re wearing a mask. You absorb other people’s personalities so easily. You say that I haven’t asked you any questions but when I have, I don’t find the answers that enlightening. I feel like I don’t know the real you, and that has disappointed and disturbed me.”

— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 14, 2024
The housemates then had to give a kiss on the cheek to the housemate they had nominated and it was Marisha who got a frosty reception when she nominated Ekin-Su.
When giving her reasons for nominating the former Love Island winner, Marisha said: “Only because I know if I get to the final, I can’t beat you. I know that if you get to the final with me, you will win the public vote.
“I know if we go to head-to-head, you have a huge following; you’ve played these games before, you know how to win – and if I want to win this, if I ever have a chance, I wouldn’t have a chance against you. I know that for sure.”
While it seemed like a valid reason, Ekin-Su was less than impress and refused to speak to Marisha for most of the hours that followed, before telling her she’ll struggle to forgive her.
After all the nominations were said and done, it was revealed Ekin-Su, David Potts, Fern Britton, Levi Roots and Louis Walsh would all be facing the public vote.
Tonight’s eviction (Friday 15th March) will see two housemates evicted and it’s down to the public to decide who stays!
Viewers got to watch the hours leading up to Lauren Simon and Sharon Osbourne’s exits.
Nikita Kuzmin, Bradley Riches and Colson Smith reflected on their time with the former X Factor judge, with Bradley saying: “She said last night she was giving me her number!” to which Colson added: “She says when we get out we have to text her so that she has our number and then she’ll get in touch with us, so I think I’m just going to text and say ‘Hi Sharon, it’s Colson,’ and just never have a text back.”
The housemates were then seen enjoying a farewell tea party in the lounge.
Levi Roots told Sharon: “You’re royalty”, and Fern Britton added: “You’ve navigated a life that has been full of excitement and also tribulations and you’ve always emerged tremendously gracious and very well loved.”

Following Lauren’s eviction, it was finally time for Sharon to leave the house.
She exited to a round of applause with the housemates shouting: “We love you Sharon!”
Before she left, she revealed that Kuzmin and Dragons’ Den star Roots had made the “most lasting impact” on her and deserved to make it to the final. Will her predictions prove correct? Only time will tell.
It was time for another eviction on Celebrity Big Brother last night!
Lauren Simon, Louis Walsh and Fern Britton all faced the public vote, and it was the end of Lauren’s time in the Big Brother house.
“I’m feeling overwhelmed. I’ve had the most amazing time,” Lauren told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.
When speaking to the hosts about her time on the show, she said she was “relaxed and relieved” to be out of the house.
She wasn’t the only housemate to leave, as Sharon Osbourne checked out of her status as celebrity lodger.
100 seconds just doesn’t feel long enough for Sharon's best moments in the House… but here they are! #CBBUK pic.twitter.com/6yK5zcQ5tt
— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 12, 2024
Due to her role, Sharon was only ever meant to be in the house for a week.
As she left, she noted that Nikita Kuzmin and Levi Roots had made the biggest impression on her.
“He’s beautiful inside and outside,” she said of Nikita.
Speaking about Levi, Sharon said: “He’s got something, I told you, I’m looking for. He’s at peace for the world. He only wants good things, he is really just a genuine guy.”
She was met with a hug from her daughter Kelly.
Outside of the live show, viewers were shown what the celebrities had been getting up to, including a chat between Sharon and Louis about their careers.
Sharon and Louis were called to the Diary Room to chat to Big Brother and were asked who the best people they’ve worked with in the past are.
Louis said: “Westlife never let me down, they’re still working, they’re always great.”
Looking at Sharon, he said to her: “Ozzy Osbourne?” As she agreed: “Ozzy of course, Jeff Lynne, brilliant. Oh, Lemmy! Loved, loved Lemmy”
Louis also said: “Girls Aloud did great songs, Nadine is a great singer.”
It was time for nominations again last night on Celebrity Big Brother but ahead of the brutal moment, Big Brother called Sharon Osbourne to the Diary Room.
“As you’ve already seen, being my Celebrity Lodger comes with great responsibility so you will play an important role in what happens today,” she was told.
Big Brother added: “Big Brother is allowing you to watch all the housemates nominations from the privacy of your bedroom. You are not permitted to tell the other housemates about watching nominations or anything about this conversation.”
Big Brother then gathered the celebrities to the sofas as it was time to nominate, while Sharon went to her bedroom and prepared herself to watch each housemate cast their nominations.
Later on, it was revealed that Lauren Simon, Louis Walsh and Zeze Millz received the most nominations and could face the public vote, but there was a twist.
After watching her fellow Housemates nominate, Sharon has the power to change everything... 😵 #CBBUK pic.twitter.com/VhazwGM7rO
— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 11, 2024
Big Brother addressed the house: “Today, Sharon was told that being my Celebrity Lodger came with great responsibility and would play a very important role in what happens today.
“To help her with that responsibility, Big Brother has allowed Sharon to watch all nominations. Sharon, will you please stand up? Big Brother is granting you the power to save one housemate from the public vote.”
Sharon chose to save Zeze, noting that the presenter reminded her of someone. She instead chose to put Fern Britton up for nomination, admitting she felt the public would save her and Louis.
Following Gary’s eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house, Lauren Simon was comforted by her fellow housemates after being saved by the public.
“You’re still here,” Louis Walsh told the reality star. “See? The people like you, you did something right.”
Lauren agreed with Louis’ sentiment and said: “I wasn’t ready to go yet! You know what he said, he said, ‘I’ve done what I wanted to do here and if I go, I’ve done enough and I didn’t feel ready to go’.”
The housemates took on a shopping task last night, in which they had to become crime-fighting cops. As the housemates woke up, they were surprised to find the living room turned into ‘Big Brother’s Police Department’ as they had to take on the role of crime-fighting cops tasked with solving a murder.
“This is my forte, I am police. I live it, I breathe it, I’m a method actor,” Coronation Street’s Colson Smith told the house.
Zeze's not clowning around! #CBBUK pic.twitter.com/1nzXvIE7zt
— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 10, 2024
During the task, the housemates were informed that Lauren would be the strict, no nonsense captain of Big Brother’s Police Department, with Marisha Wallace as her deputy.
But unbeknownst to them, David Potts was tasked with a secret mission to become a bad cop and is told by Big Brother he must “sabotage, misdirect and corrupt the crime-fighting efforts of your fellow officers”.
The reality star secretly chose Zeze Millz to help him on his mission. The corrupt cops won their sabotaged task and the housemates voted Bradley Riches and Fern Britton, meaning the house won a luxury shopping budget due to David and Zeze’s success.
It was another dramatic episode of Celebrity Big Brother, which saw the first eviction of this revival series.
Things kicked off on an emotional note as the house was transformed into a so-called Celestial Retreat, with Levi Roots being named the “guiding eye” of the group.
Bradley Riches was asked by Louis Walsh to share a regret with the group and the Heartstopper star had a moving response.
“Growing up, finding out who I was, trying to understand who I was,” he explained. “But a lot of that time I lied about who I was and it hurt a lot.
“Just shying away from the real fact that I’m gay, I’m autistic and proud of who I am. That’s taken a long time for me to say that. That’s my biggest regret, I wish I never did that to myself.”
Later, Walsh and Lauren Simon were transported to the Celebrity Wheelie Bin of Shame for a rule break, having discussed their nominations and speculated on those of other housemates.
She said: “I’m sorry for putting you all in this situation. I was talking about my emotions and how I was feeling about being nominated.
“In fairness, I’m living with a group of people who I have grown to love and adore and it’s upset me that a few different people, not just one person, has nominated me. I’m sorry for getting everyone in this situation and I apologise.”
They’ll need to write a letter of apology in order to get out of the bin.
Later, Zeze Millz protested against Lauren’s characterisation of their relationship, denying that she ‘hated’ her and disapproving of the use of such a strong word.

They appeared to reach a point of reconciliation.
The episode ended with the first eviction of the season, with the public vote choosing to eliminate Gary Goldsmith – the uncle of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales.
Who will be next to leave the house?
There was a tense atmosphere in the bedroom during last night’s episode, especially when the topic of Love Island came up.
As Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Zeze Millz were getting ready, the former said: “This is not like Love Island.”
Zeze replied: “I would never do Love Island, but if you are in a hot country it is kinda like a free holiday, do you know what I mean?”
As the pair went back and forth, Zeze acknowledged that viewers may not have seen everything that played out, to which Ekin-Su said: ‘It’s a reality show filmed 24/7 honey, you only see 40 minutes of it.”
“That’s what I just said, that’s why I said we didn’t get to see all of it,” Zeze replied.

Elsewhere, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Gary Goldsmith all had a conversation about name-droppers and Sharon had some home truths to say about other celebrities in the public eye.
Speaking about James Corden, Sharon said: “When he got to America, he played the LA fame really well, you know, turned up at everything.”
Later that day, it was time for the celebrities to nominate their fellow housemates. Due to Gary receiving Sharon’s killer nomination, the other celebrities were unable to vote for him.
Lauren Simon received six nominations, Zeze received five and David Potts and Ekin-Su were nominated three times. Fern Britton, Levi Roots and Louis were all nominated twice and Bradley Riches received one nomination.
This meant Lauren Simon and Gary Goldsmith were both up for eviction and would be facing the dreaded public vote.
It was another dramatic episode of Celebrity Big Brother last night, as Sharon Osbourne nominated a housemate for eviction.
During the episode, Louis Walsh remembered his time on The X Factor, revealing he “didn’t always get along with Cheryl”.
In a conversation with Fern Britton, Catherine, Princess of Wales’s uncle Gary Goldsmith said Prince Harry should be stripped of his royal title.
Fern told Gary: “William must be furious that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders when he could have shared it.”
Gary agreed, before saying of Harry and Meghan: “I genuinely think they should take the titles away.”
Gary then went on to share his political views, declaring Donald Trump makes “the world a safer place”.
The businessman added that he is a “Tory at heart” and believed Boris Johnson “was doing a pretty good job in a very difficult circumstance” in Downing Street.
Fern then appeared to take a swipe at Phillip Schofield on the programme after Gary said he thought the host, who quit This Morning in May 2023 after admitting to lying about an affair with a younger colleague, might be a late entrant in the house.
“I might have to leave at that point,” she replied.
When asked about her true feelings on This Morning, Fern continued: “Genuinely, I haven’t been there for 15 years – I got off the train and it’s way over the horizon now, so I honestly don’t know.
“I can’t say anything. It was tricky at times. I think Ben [Shephard] and Cat [Deeley] are going to do a great job.”
After selecting her three least favourite housemates on Wednesday – Gary Goldsmith, David Potts and Zeze Millz – Sharon then picked who she wanted to put up for elimination.
It's official, Sharon has given her killer nomination to Gary, meaning he'll face Eviction this week #CBBUK pic.twitter.com/YrpooMz881
— Celebrity Big Brother UK (@bbuk) March 6, 2024
In the end, she chose Kate Middleton’s uncle, Goldsmith, explaining: “I don’t think he’s that comfortable here – I think he’s awkward with himself being here, too. It’s very tough for him – I think he’s brave to have come in here.
“I somehow don’t think this is the place for him. He’s just the oddball out from everyone that’s in here.”
It was another juicy episode of Celebrity Big Brother last night, as three housemates found out they were at risk of the first public vote.
As seen in the previous night’s Late & Live episode, viewers found out Gary Goldsmith, Zeze Millz and David Potts were at risk – and the fallout from that was seen last night.
The celebrities seem to have taken it all on the chin and continued to get to know one another as they embarked on their first night in the Big Brother house.
During the episode, Gary spoke with Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne about his relationship with the royals, admitting that it was “difficult to get hold of Kate [Middleton] at the best of times”.
“She’s got children and I love the fact that she’s putting family first,” he told the former X Factor judges.
Elsewhere, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Fern Britton had a heart to heart about her time on Love Island and being in the public eye.

“I went in there and thought I’d leave in two weeks ’cause I was just myself,” she explained. “It was a lonely place in there and I found love on the show, which was great at the time…
“People look up to me as this confident person, but I feel like there’s this vulnerably side that I hide that I don’t show to the public. It’s usually that side where I’ll do an appearance and I’ll go home and cry.”
Viewers will get to see the outcome of Louis and Sharon’s judging skills in tonight’s episode.
Celebrity Big Brother returned after six years off air, with AJ Odudu and Will Best at the helm of the series once again.
As the pair began hosting the live launch, Sharon Osbourne was welcomed into the house as a celebrity lodger. Once “the original reality star” entered the Big Brother house, she was told that she would have to secretly nominate three housemates for eviction.
Following swiftly behind was Louis Walsh and after a sweet reunion, Big Brother revealed the pair would have to decide together which housemates would be facing the public vote.
It was time for the next set of housemates to enter the house, with Louis and Sharon sent to a secret room to watch everyone as they entered.
The celebrities that followed were Nikita Kuzmin, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Colson Smith and Gary Goldsmith, with the latter being Kate Middleton’s uncle.
Marisha Wallace, David Potts, Levi Roots and Zeze Millz all followed before the final three celebrities entered the house. Lauren Simon, Bradley Riches and Fern Britton completed the house, but they were all soon in for a surprise.
Meanwhile in their secret lair, Louis and Sharon was watching every housemate before deciding to put Gary, Zeze and David at risk of facing the public vote.
“David has come to show off,” Sharon said of her decision to nominate the Ibiza Weekender star. “He was trying too hard to be outrageous. ‘I’m trying to be fun and outrageous. Look at me!'”
As the famous housemates began getting to know one another, Big Brother revealed they had been “judged” by two unseen celebrities as Louis and Sharon made their way into the house.

In an exclusive first look Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live, it was revealed three chosen contestants could be up for eviction on Friday 8th March, but there was yet another twist.
In tonight’s episode, the housemates will get to plead their case as to why they deserve to stay in the house, with Sharon given the choice to judge their pleas and the housemate who fails will face eviction.

]]>*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Tuesday 19th March’s EastEnders, which was made available on BBC iPlayer at 6am.*
EastEnders has revealed the dramatic aftermath of Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) discovery that Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has been secretly seeing Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) behind the back of Denise Fox (Diane Parish).
Martin cheerfully arrived back in Walford, only to walk in on Stacey and Jack sharing a farewell smooch after calling a halt to their affair. As Jack tried to downplay it, Stacey ended up admitting to Martin that she and Jack had been sleeping together for quite some time, but it was now over.
A disgusted Martin left, seeking support from godmother Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), who tried to persuade Martin to keep quiet about Stacey and Jack.
When Kathy explained that she wanted to keep the peace between Stacey and Denise, an angry Martin was baffled, and Kathy brushed it off. However, viewers know she was aiming to stop the murderous pact between the woman from exploding!
Trying to stay cool and collected, Kathy quizzed Martin on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who remains in Australia. Calming down, Martin explained that Sharon had been the one who urged Martin to return home early to surprise his loved ones.
Kathy advised Martin to stop concerning himself with Stacey’s actions. Meanwhile, Jack panicked that his marriage was about to be destroyed, and Stacey assured him that it wouldn’t be as Jack hoped to minimise the fallout of Martin’s fury.
Jack later broke down to Denise, revealing how scared he had been during her recent illness, and the pair shared a tender moment.
But amid this breakthrough, a riled up Martin stormed back to the Fox-Branning residence, where his attitude towards Jack was witnessed by Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams). Chelsea let rip at Martin for his aggression towards Jack, but her praise for her stepfather led Martin to expose Jack’s infidelity to her.
Chelsea announced Jack and Stacey’s cheating to the rest of the family, but Denise revealed she knew about the fling and wanted to move on. As Jack latched onto this lifeline, Martin told Denise that he had only just seen Jack and Stacey kissing!
Realisation dawned on Denise that the affair had continued, but still the selfish Jack claimed there was nothing going on.
As he looked to Stacey to back him up, there was a huge throwback to the moment Jack’s brother Max (Jake Wood) shamelessly tried to persuade Stacey to go along with his fib that the now-famous footage of them smooching was a wind-up.
Just as she had done during EastEnders‘ epic 2007 Christmas special, Stacey confirmed the truth as she tearfully uttered the words: “I’m sorry.”
Jack made excuses as he claimed that Denise had pushed him away and this was, apparently, why he felt the need to cheat. A raging Chelsea lunged at Stacey, while Martin and Jack came to blows in a violent showdown which spilled out onto the street.
Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) arrived and intervened, and Stacey tried to justify her behaviour, but confessed she had caught real feelings for Jack.
Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) disowned mum Stacey as Chelsea took Denise away from the house, and Martin asked why Stacey had gone anywhere near Jack. Stacey had the nerve to claim that Jack wouldn’t have looked her way if he had been happy with Denise, and Martin walked away in disgust.
As Jack and Stacey were left out in the cold, can their families ever forgive them or have they pushed them all away for good?

]]>Get ready for a new kind of series that is ready to take the reality TV genre by storm.
The Underdog: Josh Must Win is a brand new reality series that sees a group of confident contestants compete in a popularity contest, with all of them under the assumption they are on a series called The Favourite.
What they don’t know is that there are a group of celebrities who are doing everything to ensure that Josh wins! Tasked with their greatest challenge to date, Nick Grimshaw, Amber Rose Gill, Pete Wicks and Vicky Pattison are ready to use all they’ve learnt about reality TV to ensure Josh wins, and Pattison believes this series is just what everyone needs.
“It was a really nice opportunity to be involved in something in its infancy,” Pattison told RadioTimes.com and other press.
She continued: “You know, you think to yourself [that] everything’s been done and then all of a sudden, something comes along like this that is new and fresh and exciting.
“We lived this experience for about two weeks and I can’t tell you how obsessed and invested we became in it. It got under our skin, and I think it’s gonna get under viewers’ skin as well.”
As viewers will see, the contestants have to vote for whoever is their favourite and as will become apparent, Josh is far from your stereotypical reality TV star, but it’s down to Pattison and co to ensure he becomes the most popular within the group.
The group will do everything and anything they can to influence the game, but must ensure they don’t get caught. This includes introducing format twists, setting tasks and mastering the art of manipulation, and Pattison can’t wait for viewers to tune in.
Read more:
She told RadioTimes.com and other press: “I’m just raring for people to see all of these incredible characters, to get to know Josh and love them like we do. And to watch something new. It’s time. The reality TV world was ready for something new.”
Her sentiments were echoed by Pete Wicks, who believes it’s time for a “new type of reality star”.
“I think reality TV follows a lot of the same formats now and you get a lot of the same people,” he explained.
“I think this was an opportunity for a brand new type of reality star to come to the forefront and it’s about time because it kind of makes you think about who you are and being authentic.”
Only time will tell if the panel can handle the pressure of controlling a show starring real people and, of course, if Josh wins.
The Underdog: Just Must Win starts Monday 25th March at 9pm on E4. Stream on Channel 4.

]]>At the end of last week’s episode of Death in Paradise, Neville’s (Ralf Little) future on Saint Marie was left uncertain – and these first-look images from this Sunday’s season 13 finale have only fuelled those fan theories.
The penultimate episode saw Neville announce his plans to go travelling and ended as he headed to the airport, but is he really about to head off for good?
With Florence (Joséphine Jobert) no longer in witness protection and back to say how much she missed Neville, we could be heading towards a definitive resolution for the ‘Will they? Won’t they?’ couple.
And based on the new images, it looks like the answer may yet be: ‘They will!’
Neville and Florence can be seen deep in conversation and embracing in the new snaps, suggesting that her arrival back on Saint Marie might have prompted him to rethink his planned exit.
Meanwhile, Neville and his team will also have another case on their hands in the season finale and some further images show him investigating a crime scene and observing a suspect board.
The official synopsis teases that the mystery this week will see “a passenger disappear from a flight to Dominica, only to be found dead in Saint Marie, while the pilot and flight attendant deny even seeing the victim on the plane”.
Read more:
Meanwhile on the subject of Neville’s potential departure, the synopsis continues: “Neville starts to question whether he’s losing his mind, and the return of a familiar face presents him with a big decision to make.”
It certainly seems as if Florence will be playing a key role in whatever decision he eventually makes…

]]>Sally Wainwright’s new show, the first to arrive following the end of the highly acclaimed Happy Valley, takes the writer in an entirely different direction.
Renegade Nell is a new fantasy series for Disney Plus, which stars Louisa Harland in the title role as a young woman who finds herself framed for murder – and unexpectedly becomes the most notorious highwaywoman in 18th-century England.
The series also stars the likes of Joely Richardson, Nick Mohammed and Adrian Lester, as well as Ényì Okoronkwo, who plays a former slave who becomes a whistleblower, and joins Nell and her family in their quest for justice.
Harland spoke about how Wainwright tackled difficult historical topics such as slavery in the series, explaining: “With Ényì’s [Okoronkwo] character, Rasselas, [spoiler] at the end we discover his true name. He didn’t want to shy away from the fact that Rasselas was formerly a slave.”
Harland continued: “I love the relationship between Rasselas and Sofia (Alice Kremelberg) and Thomas (Jake Dunn), just that dynamic (of the landed gentry vs the stable boy) and how they saw each other is just fascinating.
Read more:
“The nice thing about this world is I feel like it’s a new world we’ve created, and apart from a throughline of historical accuracy, we can kind of do whatever we want.
“Sally, I think, is rewriting history a little bit, and that’s something lovely about the show.”
Lester also recently praised Wainwright’s writing for the series, while he was appearing on The Graham Norton Show.
He said: “It is really good fun. It’s very different for Sally Wainwright. She’s put political intrigue, sprites, magic, lots of fighting, highway robbery and Regency England in a big pot, gave it a stir and out came an amazing idea.
“It is really good writing, and I ha[d] a really good time being bad.”
Renegade Nell is coming to Disney Plus on Friday 29th March.

In the pub, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) tells Daisy and Glenda about her plans to host a speed-dating night. Glenda thinks it’s a great idea, while Daisy smiles through gritted teeth.
Jenny heads out to dinner with Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) and Daisy goes away for the night with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), so a glammed up Glenda agrees to host the speed-dating night herself.
But later, with the pub closed, Glenda heads through to the bar to find masked burglars raiding the till. One of the men orders Glenda to get down on the floor, and a terrified Glenda does as she’s told. As the robbers leave with the takings, a tearful and panicky Glenda calls the police.
Jenny returns to find they’ve been burgled, and although Glenda puts on a brave face, Jenny insists she takes the morning off. But Glenda feels terrible when Paul and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) call in to collect Paul’s laptop, only to learn it’s been stolen.
With the pub closed, Glenda offers Jenny and Daisy a nightcap, but when she walks through to the bar, she relives the awful events of the night before, and it’s clear she’s struggling to cope beneath her bubbly façade. Will Glenda open up about her trauma?
Summer books her flight to Boston, and Billy agrees to cook a roast dinner as a celebration. But when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazelgrove) takes Paul to his speech therapist appointment, it’s confirmed that his speech and ability to eat solid food have deteriorated.
It’s suggested that Paul should start using a feeding tube, and Paul and Bernie return home and break the news that he can no longer eat solid food as he could choke.
Paul assures Billy and Summer that if they liquidise his food he’ll be fine, but as the family, alongside Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), tuck into their meal, Paul eats his bowl of pureed food, and as the others clear away the plates, Paul fights back tears.
The following day, Billy, Paul and Todd bid an emotional farewell to Summer as she sets off for Boston. It remains to be seen whether she’ll be back as she shares a heartfelt hug with Paul, but we later see Paul playing back some of his pre-recorded messages.

Adam assures her there’s no rush, but when he suggests it would be nice if they could be friends, Sarah rushes off, saying it’s too soon. But has she dumped Damon?
At the café, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) arrives to find a smouldering pan on the stove. Roy realises that he’s been sleepwalking again, and promises Nina it won’t happen again.
He later tells solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) that he’s happy to pay whatever it costs to clear his name.
Nina confides in Dee-Dee that she’s worried about Roy’s sleepwalking, and wonders how on earth he’ll pay his legal fees if he ends up in court over Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) murder. How far will things go against Roy with the police?
Before the robbery, Jenny and Daisy are left horrified when Christina texts to say she’s coming to stay for two weeks. Ryan is shocked when he sees Daisy telling her mum she’s not welcome, adding that Christina should visit her friend in Amsterdam instead.
Christina comes to The Rovers and explains that her passport has expired, and she’s nowhere else to stay. When Ryan insists Christina should stay for a drink, as it’s the least they can do after she lent Daisy and Jenny the money to buy the pub, Christina is intrigued.
Will she blow Daisy’s cover? It looks like Christina will stick around, as she’s later seen taking a shine to a man with a tattoo at the speed-dating event. But can she be trusted to keep quiet over the pub?
Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) moans to David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) that there’s been no interest in his dating profile, and Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) suggests he try the cocktail night at her hotel if he wants to meet someone.
Steve later finds Ken at home trying on different jackets, and Ken explains he’s joining him at the cocktail night.

Describing how Whitney’s decision affects their relationship, actor Farrar said of Zack’s mindset: “There’s a lot of resentment. Zack feels like things could have been communicated better by Whitney. He can’t understand why she’s hiding things and worries there is a lack of trust between them.

]]>Epic new Netflix sci-fi series 3 Body Problem comes from Alexander Woo, DB Weiss and David Benioff, and adapts the acclaimed Chinese book series often referred to as just Three-Body.
The adaptation features an ensemble cast including John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Liam Cunningham (Doctor Who), Eiza González (Godzilla vs Kong), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) and Jonathan Pryce (The Crown), and follows a group of scientists who join forces with a detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.
For those looking to go back to the books as the series is released, just how can you watch the book series in order and how many books are these?
Read on for everything you need to know about the Three-Body Problem book series.
The Three-Body Problem is the first in a trilogy of novels by Liu Cixin, which makes up what is known as the Remembrance of Earth’s Past series.
The first book in the trilogy came out in 2006, while the final novel was released in 2010.
The Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy was released in chronological order, meaning the books should be read in the following sequence:
There are two additional novels linked to the official Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy.
One of these is Ball Lightning, which was actually written by Liu before he wrote the trilogy, back in 2004. Liu has referred to the novel as a sort of prequel to the trilogy, with it being seemingly set in the same universe, but taking place before the events of the later books.
Meanwhile, the other novel with connections to the Remembrance of Earth’s Past series is The Redemption of Time, which comes from author Li Jun, using the pen name Baoshu.
That book was originally published online as fan fiction in 2010, before being published with the permission of Liu Cixin. It was first published as Three-Body X: Aeon of Contemplation in 2011, before being translated into English and released as The Redemption of Time in 2019.
Speaking ahead of the series debuting, two of the show’s creators, Game of Thrones showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff, spoke about their “terror” at the prospect of adapting the ambitious books.
Weiss told Empire: “The feeling that it may be too much was familiar for us. It was what we felt with Thrones, in conjunction with a tremendous amount of excitement over the possibilities of where it could go if we could get it off the ground. It was the terror of the magnitude of what was in front of us. If you’re not afraid, you’re doing something wrong.”
Meanwhile, Benioff made it clear that their intention is to adapt all three of the books in the trilogy, if enough viewers watch the series when it arrives on Netflix.
He said: “Honestly, the ending of the third book is one of my favourite endings of any giant saga of all time, so we want to get there. The hardest thing is always the first season. Can we justify the big investment from Netflix? I feel like this will grow as it grows. I’m hopeful.”
3 Body Problem will be released on Netflix on Thursday 21st March. Sign up for Netflix from £4.99 a month. Netflix is also available on Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream.

]]>Levi Roots has lifted the lid on his time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, admitting that there is a “clear divide” amongst the younger and older housemates.
The entrepreneur became the third celebrity housemate to be evicted, following a double eviction which also saw Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu‘s time in the Big Brother house come to an end.
Throughout the show, Levi was nominated five times by his fellow housemates, mainly by David Potts and Colson Smith, who some would say are on one “side” of the Big Brother house.
“I thought there was a divide in the house, it was very clear that there was a divide,” Roots told RadioTimes.com and other press.
“It became like sort of a football match, where there [were] two sides battling against each other. One side knew how to play the game well and I thought they were playing a blinder in playing the Big Brother game.”
‘Playing a game’ is a phrase that is often thrown around when a reality TV show takes place, especially when it comes to competition series, with the ultimate aim of the game being to win.
As for who will win the season, Roots believes Bradley Riches is a contender.
He added: “I think Bradley will win. Bradley is a fantastic young man. I think he’s got the world at his feet. I think that he is a brilliant young lad that deserves to have a bright future in front of them. So I think that he will win.”

“Pretty much the younger housemates were sitting on the other side, apart from a few others but I thought all the older people were actually sitting on the left at one stage. There was a clear sort of divide in the house and I think it was led by the younger housemates as opposed to us on the other side.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
