Monsters University

Mike and Sulley are back in this prequel to 2001’s Monsters Inc. The movie – Pixar’s first prequel – follows the professional scarers as they meet in Freshers’ Week and struggle through the highs and lows of university life. Helen Mirren joins the cast as Dean Abigail Hardscrabble, the chair of the Scarer programme at Monsters University.

Strictly Come Dancing 

Staaaaaart dancing! It really must be autumn as Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens. If you missed this weekend’s launch show, you can catch up on iPlayer and see this year’s celebrity line-up meet their professional partners. The gang also perform their first group dance together, while 2014 champ Caroline Flack returns for a final spin on the dance floor… Super Strictly fans can also watch exclusive iPlayer footage from the show’s red carpet event, where the celebrities got into their sparkly costumes for the very first time.

Toy Story 

Fancy a jolly, heart-warming adventure? Look no further. The first Toy Story film is now available to stream on Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video. The movie, which follows cowboy toy Woody and action figure Buzz Lightyear, became an instant classic when it first hit cinemas in 1995. And it’s still brilliantly entertaining 20 years later…

Lady Chatterley’s Lover 

DH Lawrence’s scandalous tale of cross-class love made a comeback last weekend, with Holliday Grainger and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden taking on the main roles. It’s gritty, passionate and features quite a lot of scenes where Madden’s got his top off. Do with that what you will…

Spooks: the Greater Good

Long-running BBC spy drama Spooks made its big screen debut earlier this year, with movie The Greater Good. Familiar faces like Peter Firth and Lara Pulver returned, joined by newcomers Kit Harington and Elyes Gabel. If you missed it in cinemas, the movie is now available to buy on blinkbox and iTunes.

As part of the BBC’s Make it Digital season, BBC4 are making archive material from the 1980s available on iPlayer. The series looks back at when the BBC launched the Microcomputer System, or BBC Micro, as part of the Computer Literacy Project. The first instalment is the first episode of The Computer Programme, in which Chris Serle, Ian McNaught-Davis and Gill Nevill explored the brave new world of information science…
