BBC4’s acclaimed Kenny Everett bio-drama, Best Possible Taste, featured plenty of classic hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s – but one of the tracks was new. The haunting acoustic version of Freedom, Wham!’s 1984 number one hit, was by Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17, and is available to download absolutely free, exclusively via RadioTimes.com!

Glenn, who also composes his own music for TV and film in his London studio shed, tells Radio Times: “That version seems to have caused a bit of interest. Oliver Lansley, who played Kenny, tweeted about it, and James Strong the director said I should release it. It was only after working out the chords for the guitar that I realised what a beautiful lyric the song has.”
Thanks to strong interest from viewers of the BBC4 programme, the song will go on sale as a single on 30 October.
