The hit period fantasy show, which was filmed in various locations across Scotland, will be available in the UK for the first time as of next month.

Outlander is already a hit across the pond where it won this year’s People’s Choice Award for favourite cable sci-fi fantasy TV show.

Rtarring Caitriona Balfe, Tobias Menzies, Sam Heughan and Simon Callow, Outlander follows Second World War nurse Claire Beauchamp Randall as she finds herself travelling back through time. Visiting Scotland with her husband Frank in 1945, Claire touches a standing stone and wakes up in 1743 during a civil war.

Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon’s series of novels and produced by Starz, the channel known for Black Sails, Da Vinci’s Demons, Spartacus and The White Queen.

Expect lots of heaving muscles, bared chests and boddice ripping…
