Are we getting excited yet? New pictures from Doctor Who’s series eight premiere have been released, showing off more from Peter Capaldi’s debut as the Doctor.
The four images, released by BBC America, give fans a fresh look at the 12th Doctor – in a variety of costumes – and tease the return of some fan-favourites.
Let’s take a closer look…
Matt Smith is looking rough
Here we see Peter Capaldi giving us his best, “Bloody hell, that’s a big monster!” face. What could he be looking at? Judging by the fact that he’s still in the 11th Doctor’s costume, we’d harbour a guess at this being near the beginning of the episode.
Malcolm Tucker, is that you?
Oh my, the 12th Doctor does not look happy here, does he? Who could have irked him? Are we about to see Capaldi bringing Malcolm Tucker to the role, after all? Also: another costume. And it isn’t his only one.
A Touch of Vastra
Yep, it’s the return of Madame Vastra (and, we’d guess, Jenny and Strax.) Judging by the map of Victorian London, she appears to be trying to solve a mystery. Has there been a murder?
Waiter, there’s a Dalek in my soup
The Doctor and Clara appear to have popped out for something to eat – which is nice. Notably, the Doctor is in yet another costume, although one that’s a bit more rag-tag that his previous attire. Capaldi also looks rather serious. Is his order late?
