So, that’s it. After more than three months on screens, Strictly 2017 is over. Joe and Katya were crowned champions and, well, let’s just say they weren’t expecting it…

At 42, Joe McFadden becomes the oldest winner in Strictly’s history. And with no previous dancing experience, he’d been on the all-important ‘journey’…

And the Holby City star also managed to avoid the tabloid furore that plagued other members of Strictly’s 2017 intake along the way.

Many were singling out Joe’s partner Katya Jones for praise – she is, after all, the woman who gave us this:

And ex-partner Ed Balls was full of praise for his friend and proud new owner of a Strictly Glitterball…

But Ed wasn’t the only politician to see in the reign of a new Strictly champion…

Although not everyone was pleased with the result.

Still, the final gave us the chance to see the class of 2017 back together for one final dance. And it was a full-on nostalgia fest…

Plus, the chance to remind ourselves of the injustice of Aston not making it to the final.
