Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging – 2:30pm, C4


A British coming-of-age film following 14-year-old Georgia who has two aims in life – to throw the greatest ever birthday party and persuade hunky Robbie to be her boyfriend. But her plans are put in jeopardy when her family decides to move to New Zealand and her mum starts flirting with a handsome builder (Steve Jones).

Titanic – 5:20pm, Film4

The Oscar-winning romantic disaster film, directed by James Cameron, portrays a fictionalised account of RMS Titanic’s sinking in April 1912. Upper class Rose (Kate Winslet) and gambling artist Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) meet and fall in love during the ship’s doomed maiden voyage.

Shrek – 8:35pm, BBC3

When green ogre Shrek (Mike Myers) finds his swamp overrun with homeless fairy-tale creatures, he makes a deal with Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) in exchange for his home. 

Aliens – 9:00pm, Film4

The sole survivor of an alien attack on spaceship Nostromo, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is rescued after drifting in space for 57 years. When she wakes she finds the planet where she first met the predator has been colonised, and returns with a platoon of marines to investigate.

It’s a Wonderful Life – 9:00pm, Sky Classic movies

The film follows frustrated businessman (James Stuart) whose impending suicide on Christmas Eve is stopped by his guardian angel Clarence (Henry Travers) who shows him what would have happened to those around him if he hadn’t existed.

Hellboy II: the Golden Army – 10:00pm, ITV2


Guillermo del Toro’s horror fantasy sequel in which Hellboy (Ron Perlman) must stop evil elf prince Nuada from awakening the fabled indestructible Golden Army and conquering the human realm.
