Christmas 2012: best films on TV today Thursday 27 December
The Birds, 101 Dalmatians, Dirty Dancing, Point Break, ET the Extra-Terrestrial and Titanic
Published:
101 Dalmatians – 11.00am, BBC1
Glenn Close is Cruella De Vil in this classic canine romp. Look out for Hugh Laurie who teams up with Mark Williams to play two hapless thugs, sent on a mission by their fur-obsessed employer to kidnap a truckload of dalmatian puppies.
Titanic – 5.15pm, More4
Epic romantic drama, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and a whopping great iceberg. If you haven’t seen it, now’s your chance to right this wrong; if you have seen it, all together now: “Jack, I’m flying!”
ET the Extra-Terrestrial – 6.45pm, ITV2
Never has a more loveable alien graced this, or any other, planet than Steven Spielberg’s ET. Heart-wrenching performances from Henry Thomas and a tiny little Drew Barrymore.
Dirty Dancing – 9.00pm, C5
After you’ve had the time of your life over Christmas, don’t let your family put you in a corner: wrestle that remote off them and enjoy this foot-tapping cheese-fest starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
The Birds – 11.00pm, ITV3
The inspiration for Sienna Miller’s feature-length drama, The Girl. In Alfred Hitchcock’s classic chiller, four women are obsessed with the same man (Rod Taylor). One (Tippi Hedren), in her determination, unleashes a menacing populace of birds on the town, wreaking terror and havoc.
Point Break – 11.55pm, BBC1
Totally awesome 1990s surf action adventure. Keanu Reeves is an undercover cop on the case of bank robbing wave rider Patrick Swayze. Expect babes, waves, chases and some sky diving.
