Was Strike: The Cuckoo’s Calling as good as JK Rowling’s original Robert Galbraith novel?

Did BBC1's adaptation of the Cormoran Strike tale live up to expectations?

Strike Cuckoo's Calling

Musketeers and War & Peace star Tom Burke stepped into the shoes of JK Rowling’s Cormoran Strike this weekend in Strike: The Cuckoo’s Calling.

Burke brought the titular character (the illegitimate son of a rock star and former military police officer trying to make a living as a PI in London after losing his leg in Afghanistan) to life, while Holliday Grainger starred as his partner, Robin in the first of BBC1’s Strike adaptations.

But did you enjoy the drama? And was it as good as JK Rowling’s original novel – penned under her mysterious pseudonym, Robert Galbraith?
