When we were children, our biggest dream was non-stop Star Wars and Marvel films. Now that Disney own both, that’s looking like a real possibility.
Well, you know the old saying: when the Gods/Disney want to punish us, they answer our prayers.
“There are five Star Wars films – four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens -– that are in varying stages of development and production,” Disney chairman Bob Iger told BBC Newsbeat. “There will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”
That’s right, after Rogue One (December 2016) and Star Wars Episode VIII (December 2017) and the Han Solo prequel (2018) and Star Wars Episode IX (2019), we could enter a state of constant Star Wars.
And what about Marvel?
“Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever.”
Is there a danger of us all getting bored?
“No, I don’t think they’re getting weary.”
Is that an opinion or an order, Mr Iger?
