Harry Potter fans to fly alongside the wizard in “hyper-realistic” adventure at Universal Studios

Hogwarts goes to Hollywood as LA welcomes the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, complete with a Flight of the Hippogriff rollercoaster and a 3D quidditch journey through the eight hit films

Hollywood is to welcome Harry Potter, Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, as the boy-who-lived’s Wizarding World sets up home in LA.

Universal Studios Hollywood is opening a new Harry Potter attraction in Spring 2016. As well as replicas of shops, pubs and memorable places in JK Rowling’s world, the attraction will feature Universal Studio’s first outdoor rollercoaster, the Flight of the Hippogriff.

But the main event will be inside Hogwarts itself where a flight simulator will allow fans to soar alongside Harry in “hyper-realistic” adventure Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, wearing Quidditch goggles that will bring all eight films to life in 3D HD.

“We are very excited to be able to officially announce the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open in the spring of 2016,” says Xiomara Wily, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Universal Studios Hollywood.

This will be the fourth Wizarding World attraction in the world, following two in Orlando and one in Japan.

Plus we mustn’t forget the UK’s own offering, the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Levesden Studios, where the films were bought to life.
