Rob Brydon, Sheridan Smith and Alexandra Roach have all been cast in upcoming Hollywood flick The Huntsman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The prequel to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman will see the British trio star as dwarves alongside Nick Frost who is reprising his role as Nion.
Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron will also return to the franchise, although Twilight actress Kristen Stewart will not be back to play Snow White.
Instead, actresses Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain join the cast of the film which will rewind to focus on the lives of the Huntsman (Hemsworth) and Ravenna (Theron) before the arrival of Snow White.
The role marks a step in the direction of Hollywood for Bafta and Olivier Award-winning actress Smith who has previously won acclaim for TV series Cilla and Mrs Biggs. The Huntsman reunites her with Gavin & Stacey co-star Brydon who has most recently been seen in BBC series The Trip with Steve Coogan. Roach’s credits include Anna Karenina, Utopia and The Iron Lady.
Visual effects supervisor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will sit in the director’s chair for the first time, replacing Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) who has written the screenplay. The Huntsman is set for release on 22nd April 2016.
