As the fictional son of Gomez and Morticia, Weatherax was a member of the much-loved macabre family in the TV series on US channel ABC between 1964 and 1966. He also voiced the character for an animated series in 1973 and played Pugsley Sr in a 1977 TV movie special Halloween with the New Addams Family.

The actor’s niece Shanyn Vieira took to Facebook to announce the news of his passing, adding that there will be a private funeral for family and a second funeral for fans.

Aside from his acting, Weatherwax worked as a grip and set builder behind the scenes but still made appearances at Addams Family fan conventions.
