Andrew Scott, Imelda Staunton, Joseph Gilgun and more talk Pride

At the London premiere, the cast of Pride discuss bringing the lesbian and gay activists' support of the 1984 miners' strike to the big-screen

The story of the gay and lesbian activists’ support of the 1984 miners’ strike is coming to the big-screen in Matthew Warchus’s Pride.

It’s a hard-hitting and heart-warming portrayal of real life events says the cast, which is jam-packed with British talent including Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Andrew Scott, Joseph Gilgun, Faye Marsay, Dominic Cooper and Paddy Considine.

We caught up with them at this week’s London premiere, where they dished on their favourite scenes, why the comedy works and Imelda’s nickname.

Pride is in cinemas from Friday 12th September
