The crew began taking aerial shots and stunt footage around the UAE capital in late 2013, but filming was suspended due to the sudden death of lead actor Paul Walker. Shooting is set to resume this month and head to the Gulf in April
Universal Studios have revealed that the cast and crew of Fast & Furious 7 will go back to work from March 31 in Atlanta, and then move to Abu Dhabi for shooting in April.
The feature film’s production was suspended after star Paul Walker died in a car accident in November.
The crew began taking aerial shots and stunt footage around the UAE capital city at the end of last year. The crew will now be joined by Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and Tyrese Gibson next month in the Gulf city. The film will also star Jason Statham as villain Ian Shaw.
“The transition into that Dom [Diesel’s character] state of mind has always been an interesting one,” wrote Vin Diesel recently on Facebook.
“Only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series… P.s. The long awaited completion of seven, begins…”
Other films shot in Abu Dhabi include political thriller Syriana, The Bourne Legacy and upcoming American thriller Deliver Us from Evil, starring Eric Bana.
Fast & Furious 7 is set for release on 10 April, 2015.
