For all their accidents and setbacks this season, The Grand Tour boys are looking decidedly chipper in these new pictures from the filming of season two.
The trio have clearly been to a lot of places – and these cheery images betray none of the misfortune that has plagued the latest run.
As fans will know, filming has seen Jeremy Clarkson hopitalised with pneumonia and Richard Hammond pulled from the wreckage of his supercar after plunging over the side of a mountain road in Switzerland.
Here they are having a spot of slightly different bother in Mozambique:
Mozambique was also the country where James May was able to find another friend. He looks delighted to have discovered a fourth member of the team in his car.
Richard Hammond meanwhile is all smiles while filming in Croatia.
Here’s another shot of Richard Hammond, this time in a tank on a golf course in Dubai. Well you would, wouldn’t you?
And here’s the two remaining presenters in Switzerland, scene of Hammond’s crash from which he has thankfully recovered.
We presume they were not joking about their friend’s misfortune, although with this lot you never know…
Producer Andy Wilman recently joked that publicity around the crash was helpful to Amazon Prime Video and its boss Jeff Bezos.
“I think Jeff Bezos did Richard’s brakes on that car – he knew how much public attention it would get,” he said. The very idea…
The Grand Tour series 2 will be released on Amazon Prime Video later this year
