Coronation Street will not be on ITV on Monday 25 March to make way for the channel’s live coverage of Montenegro V England at the Podgorica City Stadium from 7pm as part of the Euro 2020 qualifiers, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
Visits to Weatherfield have been disrupted since last week thanks to the channel’s sport commitments when it was moved from its usual Friday double bill to a Sunday hour-long edition, and now there’s a pause in the normal pattern as fans continue to reel from the factory roof collapse which killed Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) and drove Carla Connor (Alison King) away as she blames herself for cutting corners and not fixing the building, not realising the structure was deliberately sabotaged by an anonymous enemy.

When is Corrie back on ITV?
We’re back to normal on Wednesday 27 March in the regular split double bill of 7.30pm and 8.30pm showings, where plans are underway for Rana’s funeral and Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) is forced to defend cousin Carla as the community turns on the Underworld boss in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Meanwhile, health and safety officer Wayne Hayes (Adam Barlow) investigates the case and discovers there was an underlying fault with the factory roof, while also reconnecting with former foster parent Roy Cropper (David Neilson) who took the lad in with late wife Hayley when he was a lad.
And Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) reappears having been suspiciously absent since just before the factory carnage – did he deliberately cause the incident to frame nemesis Carla who he blames for destroying his relationship with Michelle?
