Sophie Turner will host a new ten-part factual web series made by Huffington Post.
The Game of Thrones actress, who plays Sansa Stark in the HBO fantasy drama, will be at the centre of an online-only documentary series called #PowerShift in which she will look at the effect of social media on the modern world.
“I’m really excited to be involved with #PowerShift and presenting this new series for HuffPost,” said Turner at AOL’s presentation at the IAB Digital Upfronts in London.
The British actress, who has 709,000 followers on Twitter and 1.4 million followers on Instagram, is an avid user of social media, which she says has “amplified the voice for my generation around the world and changed the way that we communicate.
“I am a huge advocate of social media and thrilled to be given the opportunity to delve deep into its influence and impact on society at large.”
According to The Guardian, the series, which has been commissioned by AOL and Huffington Post in the UK, will be aired on all international Huffington Post websites, including Canada, Japan, Spain and Germany.
This isn’t the first time AOL has commissioned a UK series – last year it launched Being Mum, in which Strictly’s Tess Daly and The Saturday’s pop star Rochelle Humes discussed parenthood, and another series called 30 Something starring Richard Bacon.
