Filming is underway in Victoria, Canada, for FOX’s adaptation of the hit ITV crime drama Broadchuch, originally set on the stunning Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
RadioTimes.com has managed to get some on-set pictures of David Tennant, who will play Emmett Carver, based on the character of Scottish DI Alec Hardy in the ITV version of the drama.
A local market has been transformed into Carver’s police station and in the images we see Tennant speak to a US cop outside the entrance.
Filming will also take place in Sidney, Island View Beach and Brentwood Bay. The former Guardian pharmacy in Oak Bay, has also been transformed for the series. It will double as the small town newspaper office of the Gracepoint Journal.
The 10 episodes will be filmed around the area for approximately four months.
David Tennant will use an American accent in the drama, and he will play alongside Anna Gunn (Skyler White from Breaking Bad), who is set to take on the role as a local female cop (based on Olivia Colman’s character of Ellie Miller in the British version of the series).
