Paper Towns author John Green’s third movie heading to cinemas for Christmas 2016

Universal will bring his short story collection Let It Snow to the big screen during 2016's festive season

Prepare to feel the love in Christmas 2016. Universal are bringing three holiday romances to the big screen, and one of them is from the pen of The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns author John Green.

Let It Snow is a collection of short stories from Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle as well as Green. The book tells three interconnecting love stories about three sets of teenagers caught in a huge snow storm in the town of Gracetown on Christmas Eve.

Pitch Perfect screenwriter Kay Cannon is on board to turn the bestseller into what will doubtless be Christmas 2016’s date movie of choice, while Ted’s Scott Stuber and Planet of the Apes’ Dylan Clark will produce. There’s on word yet on casting for the film.

Author and vlogger John Green is the man of the moment, after the success of teenage tear-jerker The Fault in Our Stars in 2014. His latest film Paper Towns, starring Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff, is heading to cinemas this summer, while another of his books Looking For Alaska has been optioned and is reportedly currently in the works over at Paramount.

Let It Snow will be released in December 2016
