Broadchurch series two: what did you think of the first episode?

After months of plot secrecy, David Tennant and Olivia Colman returned to the ITV drama tonight – but was it worth the hype?

It’s been nearly two years since the nation obsessed over Danny Latimer’s murderer, and now ITV’s phenomenally successful drama is back on our screens.

Even the vaguest plot details of series two have been kept under wraps by David Tennant, Olivia Colman and the rest of the cast, and fans of the show have had little to go on, leaving us all to do our own detective work.

But tonight we were back in the coastal community and the premise of the new series was finally revealed, although the real question is: were you enthralled or disappointed?

Do you think the writers should have stuck to one series or is Broadchurch your favourite show all over again? What do you think of the new cast members? Are you glad to see Tennant and co back on your screen? And did the plot leave you intrigued or unbothered?
