Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman artwork by Una Stubbs part of Royal Academy exhibition

The pair's Sherlock co-star has created their likeness in watercolours displayed at the gallery's Summer Exhibition

What are Benedict Cumberbatch’s best features? Some would argue his piercing blue eyes and strong cheekbones, others would say his Sherlock shock of curly, dark hair. Actress Una Stubbs chose to focus on all of the above when she painted her co-star’s likeness in a new watercolour that is on display as part of the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition.

The painting has a neighbour in Cumberbatch’s Sherlock sidekick Martin Freeman who is also painted by Stubbs in character as John Watson…

What do you think? Is it a good likeness? Or should Una stick to the day job…?

The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition runs from 9 June – 17 August. Book your tickets here.
