Actress Paula Lane has left Coronation Street after six years in the role of beleaguered Kylie Platt.
Lane, 30, filmed her final scenes for the ITV soap on Tuesday and shared pictures on social media of herself with her screen family, citing screen husband Jack P Shepherd as being her “soulmate of the Street”.
Show bosses are currently remaining tight lipped about the manner of Kylie’s departure, although her character is embroiled in a long-running storyline that has seen her trying to evade police suspicion following the murder of drug dealer Callum Logan.
Speaking recently, Lane – who is pregnant with her second child – commented that Kylie’s exit storyline met with her approval:
“I do know what Kylie’s exit involves. I was supposed to be resting but the scripts were there in front of me, so I went full throttle and I read them all in one go,” said the actress. “I’m very pleased with it. If we film it the way I picture it, then I’ll be very happy.”
