Our favourite newsman continues his broadcast antics in the newly released trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. It sees Will Ferrell reunite with his motley crew of Channel 4 news anchors played by Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner.

The film picks up where Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy left off, and finds the crew ready to face the 80s, New York and the 24-hour Global News Network. Against the backdrop of Journey’s soft rock classic Don’t Stop Believing, the anchor announces, “I’m going to do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this Earth to do — have salon-quality hair and read the news.”

The “bigger, better and Burgundy-er” sequel shows the leading man taking on a new love interest and being introduced, with all his glorious awkwardness and flair, to the African American community, while Christina Applegate returns as Ron’s co-anchor and wife Veronica Corningstone.

Directed by Adam McKay, the comedy also rounds up Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Liam Neeson, Sacha Baron Cohen and even God, as played by the one and only Kanye West.

The legend of Burgundy and the Channel 4 dream team continues on 20 December. Until then, stay classy, San Diego.
