The cast of the Neighbours 30th anniversary special has featured more will-they, won’t-theys than Scott and Charlene Robinson’s on-off romance. And while it’s looking unlikely that Kylie Minogue will appear in the soap’s commemorative episode, she will reunite with Jason Donovan in a documentary airing on Channel 5 to coincide with celebrations of the soap’s three decades on air.

Neighbours 30th: The Stars Reunite will feature the former on-screen couple sharing their favourite memories from their time working on the Australian soap. They will be joined by fellow exports Margot Robbie (currently starring opposite Will Smith in Focus), Guy Pearce (The King’s Speech) and singer Delta Goodrem in the one-off programme, hosted by Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson) and Tim Phillipps (his on-screen nephew Daniel).

Also celebrating Erinsborough’s long and illustrious history are Ian Smith and Anne Charleston (Harold Bishop and his beloved late wife Madge), Ryan Moloney (the ever-present Toadie) Mark Little (Joe Mangel), Craig McLachlan (Henry Ramsay) and Natalie Bassingthwaite who played homewrecker Izzy Hoyland.

But that’s not the only Neighbours treat being delivered to their viewers. To commemorate the anniversary – which falls on 18th March – the serial drama will air two star-studded specials two weeks apart to accommodate both Australian and UK viewers (for whom there is still a fortnight’s delay).

And in addition to the much-anticipated special, mid March will see Channel 5 screen the soap’s very first episode featuring a young Danny Ramsay (David Clencie) and Des (Paul Keane) preparing for his wedding to Lorraine (Antoinette Byron).

The channel will also broadcast a repeat of the wedding of Scott and Charlene (Donovan and Minogue) which first aired in the UK in 1988 and included the soap’s entire cast. Air dates for both instalments are yet to be confirmed.
