The X Factor 2011: Judges’ houses – Gary Barlow’s boys

Frankie? James? Marcus? Craig? Here’s your Radio Times guide to who’s who

With a biscuit factory worker, a singing hairdresser and the lost sixth member of One Direction in the running, Gary Barlow has a tough decision on his hands. But just who will make it through to his final four?

James Michael (Odds on winning: 9/1)

Who is he? James Morrison-sounding man with the Matt Cardle hat factor and very blue eyes.
We say: One to watch, even if it is on mute. Keep your eye on this one!

Marcus Collins – 12/1

Who is he? A smiley singing hairdresser who used to be in boy band Eton Road.
We say: In the words of Louis Walsh: “He’s got the whole package!”

Frankie Cocozza – 12/1

Who is he? A year ago and he almost definitely would have been shoved in One Direction. If not for his voice, then solely on the merit of his fabulous barnet.
We say: The girls had better watch out.

Craig Colton – 14/1

Who is he? Looks like a clean-shaven Chris Moyles, sings like Al Green.
We say: There is definitely enough room in the competition for a bit of a diva from a biscuit factory.

John Wilding – 33/1

Who is he? You might recognise John and his blow-dry – and you would be right to do so. He auditioned last year but lost out at judges’ houses.
We say: Everyone likes a trier and surely they can’t do the same again? Can they?

Joe Cox – 50/1

Who is he? The judges went wild for Joe. However, his twitchy performance might be a bit distracting for others.
We say: See last year’s Aiden Grimshaw for more details.

Max Vickers – 66/1

Who is he? We’re not sure either. No relation to Diana.
We say: Hopefully it won’t take him too long to pack.

Luke Lucas – 80/1

Who is he? Youngest contestant, has a whiff of the Eoghan Quigg about him.
We say: Really great voice but might be a bit too young. Maybe next year?
