Agatha Christie’s Marple, Speed with Guy Martin, Michael Palin Wyeth’s World, Mad Dogs: the Finale, Live from the Artists Den: Adele, Antiques Roadshow

Agatha Christie’s Marple – 8:00pm, ITV

Miss Marple herself could be at risk when a dangerous killer strikes on the allegedly cursed Gipsy’s Acre. Mike Rodgers and his new wife Ellie have just moved in and as fate would have it, Miss Marple is visiting a recently widowed friend nearby. This star-studded line-up includes The Paradise’s Joanna Vanderham, Tamzin Outhwaite, Hugh Dennis and The White Queen’s Aneurin Barnard.

Speed with Guy Martin – 8:00pm, Channel 4

Guy is on the hunt for a new adrenalin kick after becoming a cult hero for his documentary about the terrifying Isle of Man motorcycle race. And what could be more fitting than to see how fast he can go… on a bicycle. Sounds a bit tame, right? Well, he’s trying to beat the 110mph record, so not that easy after all. He even tries to use the slipstream of a lorry. Great festive action that’ll perhaps inspire your own cycle outside…

Michael Palin Wyeth’s World – 9:00pm, BBC2

Palin is on the move again – this time to Pennsylvania and Maine. Here the intrepid traveller explores the legacy of painter John Wyeth who painted Christina’s World – a paraplegic woman crawling through a Maine field towards an isolated farmhouse. Palin also meets Helga Testorf, whom Wyeth painted almost 250 times in secret over a 15 year time span.

Mad Dogs: the Finale – 9:00pm, Sky1

Rick has a plan to try and turn the lads’ lives around. Rick, Baxter, Quinn and Woody are holed up in their panic room in their South African house. But what they don’t know is that someone they ‘bumped into’ in Majorca is out for revenge and he doesn’t look like he’s going to be stopped.

Live from the Artists Den: Adele – 9:00pm, Sky Arts 1

Forget the renditions of Adele’s songs you’ve heard on the various reality shows throughout the year. This is Adele, perched on a stool, coffee cup in hand singing to a tiny crowd who are so captivated they don’t even sing along. There’s also some lovely covers of other artists’ tracks.

Antiques Roadshow – 7:00pm, BBC1

It’s the big one – the most valuable object ever to have been sold after a Roadshow appearance is revealed. Plus, we get to find out if a painting by Flemish artist Anthony Van Dyck is actually worth far more than the £400 Father Jamie bought it for. There was no way of knowing the truth about the painting’s origins without taking half the paint off – and it’s been a long process of extensive restoration and authentication. Tonight the result is revealed.
