BBC to split up couples in new “nail-biting” Saturday night show

Contestants will be flown thousands of miles away from their loved ones in a new competition hosted by Emma Willis and Reggie Yates

The BBC is putting a competitive spin on the trials and tribulations of long-distance relationships with their latest Saturday night offering, Prized Apart.

Emma Willis and Reggie Yates will host the show that sees contestants attempt to spend as much time away from their partner as possible in order to win. Contestants will be flown to a foreign location to complete a series of gruelling challenges while their partner waits anxiously in the UK studio.

Each week, the worst performing contestants are flown back to the UK. The stay-at-home contestants must answer a series of questions in a head-to-head round against other partners. The successor will then be able to fly their partner back out to continue to play the game.

Reality TV regular Emma Willis – who also presents The Voice and Big Brother – said: “Prized Apart will be nail biting, emotional and full of energy. It will be a lot of fun to see how far the contestants will go for their loved ones.”

The show will air on BBC One in spring 2015.
