The first trailer for Early Man – an Aardman film starring a voice cast lead by Tom Hiddlestom, Eddie Redmayne and Maisie Williams – has been released.

From the creators of Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, Early Man is set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth.

It tells the tale of Dug, along with sidekick Hognob, as he unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.

Redmayne voices caveman Dug, while Hiddleston plays Bronze Age tyrant Lord Nooth and Williams is the rebellious Goona. The film will be directed by Nick Park.

The actor who’s voicing Hognob is yet to be announced, but rounding off the starry cast are names including Richard Ayoade, Timothy Spall and Johnny Vegas.

Early Man is due in UK cinemas on 26th January 2018
