Emmerdale looks set to return to Pinewood Studios to film a high-stakes action sequence to be screened this October.
The ITV soap previously decamped to Pinewood for the Woolpack siege of 2013 during which they utilised the famous underwater stage. But show boss Iain MacLeod promises that this latest storyline will be unlike any seen before on a soap opera.
Speaking about what lies ahead, MacLeod said: “There are a couple of soap firsts in it in terms of the stories we are telling and the way it is being shot.
“The most I can really say is that we are in talks to go back to Pinewood to do some filming there, so that should give you some sense of the kind of dramatic scale we’re talking about. It’s going to be amazing.”

The soap producer was speaking ahead of the broadcast of next week’s fire at Mill Cottage, in which Rakesh’s act of arson will endanger the lives of both Nicola and Ronnie.
And while MacLeod was unable to confirm who exactly would be involved in autumn’s grand spectacle, he did reveal the date on which the action would unfold. October 17th, if you’d like to make a note in your diary…
