Made in Chelsea welcomes three new cast members (along with some golden oldies) to the mean streets of west London when the show returns tonight for its 12th series.
Newcomers Akin Solanke-Caulker, Emily Blackwell and Julius Cowdrey will join the gang in SW6. As all three of them are on the hunt for “Chelsea ladies”, “handsome boys” and “energetic girls” respectively, it’s bound to be another series of love rivalry and debauchery.
Akin Solanke-Caulker is the series’ first black cast member, and used to be a semi-professional rugby player. At 26, he now runs his own sports agency. He’s been a close pal of Alex Mytton since their school days and also played rugby with JP back in the day.
A 20-year-old professional model, Emily Blackwell is mates with Jess Woodley and is now part of her and Toff’s girl squad.
The third newbie is 23-year-old half-Swedish Julius Cowdrey. (Of course his name is bloody Julius.) He comes from cricket royalty: his late grandfather Lord Colin Cowdrey was England captain and received a life peerage for services to the game, while his father Chris captained England and Kent.
Julius, however, is more interested in music: he’s an aspiring singer-songwriter. Cue flashbacks of other MIC stars trying to launch their music career on the back of the show: Mytton, Gabriella, Andy, Caggie, the list goes on.
Meanwhile, making a Chelsea comeback is Fredrik Ferrier, who was last seen in series four giving Francis Boulle relationship advice.
And Oliver Proudlock returns too, last seen in series 10 and back to complete the Lost Boys trio (with Francis and Jamie) at long last.
Made in Chelsea series 12 begins on 10 October at 9pm on E4
