Emmerdale’s Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) has been arrested for a crime he didn’t commit after being set up by Megan (Gaynor Faye) and Charity (Emma Atkins).
Former convict Frank was left facing a fresh ten-year stretch as the police put him in handcuffs at the climax of tonight’s double bill.
Recent episodes have seen unlikely co-conspirators Megan and Charity try to frame Frank for fraud.
But a last-minute drama saw Megan discover that Charity had been lying to her about elements of the scam, while Frank himself found out that he’d been duped.
With Tracey and Vanessa advising that he flee and leave the cash planted on him at the police station, Frank instead decided that he couldn’t run out on his daughters.
Astounded that Megan could have fitted him up in such a fashion, Frank was last seen being led away by investigating officers after a holdall filled with banknotes was seized from his car.
But fans concerned that Frank’s arrest (and possible incarceration) will lead to Michael Praed leaving the soap needn’t worry – a show spokesperson told RadioTimes.com today that the actor is sticking around.
So will Frank be sent down? Or will he reappear to seek vengeance on double dealers Charity and Megan? Emmerdale returns tomorrow at 7:00pm on ITV.
