Peter Beale has been the subject of many heated conversations on EastEnders of late, following the revelation that the character had fallen on hard times while living in New Zealand.
But despite Peter’s health being a cause for concern for both Steven and Lauren, it seems that actor Ben Hardy doesn’t have any immediate plans to return to Albert Square.
Speaking about his time on the BBC1 soap during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Hardy said: “It’s such a hard craft and you learn so much doing it. it’s relentless – you’re doing 12 scenes a day. It’s so hard to get your best work out when you’re doing that kind of structure.”
Asked whether he’d consider making a comeback, the actor replied: “Never say never, but who knows? Not in the immediate future.”
The 25-year-old star played Peter between 2013 and 2015 before going on to make his Hollywood film debut playing Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse.
He was then subsequently cast as writer John William Polidori opposite actors Elle Fanning and Douglas Booth in period romance A Storm in the Stars.
