James Corden will play Peter Rabbit alongside Star Wars’s Daisy Ridley in new film

A world first: a Gavin and Stacey/Star Wars crossover

At last, you no longer have to imagine James Corden as a bunny: The Late Late Show host will be voicing Peter Rabbit in a new animated adaption of the kids classic. And he’ll be joined by Daisy Ridley, AKA Rey from Star Wars.

Plus, Elizabeth Debicki (who played Jed Marshall in The Night Manager) and Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne (she played Helen Harris III, the one who read out that fantastic poem) will feature in the film that goes into production in January 2017.

Will Gluck (2014’s Annie) will direct the tale of the rebellious bunny, who first appeared in Beatrix Potter book The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902.

Peter Rabbit is due for release in April 2018 to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the birth of the author and illustrator.

In recent years, James Corden has also lent his voice out to several other films, including Trolls, which is out 21st October this year. Meanwhile, Ridley’s Star Wars partner John Boyega is currently voicing another lovable bunny, in BBC1’s adaptation of Watership Down

We could end this article here, but while we’re talking about Corden we’ve got an excuse to post his Britney Spears carpool karaoke again. Don’t say we do nothing for you.
