It’s a far cry from Gallifrey but former Time Lord David Tennant is clearly more than up to the challenge – a starring role in Absolute Radio’s celebrity Christmas panto Zombie-Claus.

The Scottish star of Doctor Who and Broadchurch will appear in a full Zombie costume alongside his friend, the breakfast show host Christian O’Connell, for the one-off performance which is being broadcast live across the UK on Absolute Radio.

The radio station was unable to reveal as yet what character Tennant will play in the “dark” panto, but a spokeswoman did confirm that it will also feature EastEnders star and comedian Shane Richie and will be broadcast live from London’s Soho Theatre on Friday 20 December at 8am.

Absolute Radio presenters, including breakfast show co-presenter Richie Firth, Travel presenter Maggie Doyle and Newsreader Andrew Bailey, will take on the remaining roles.

The hunt is now on for listeners to help with the set and costumes for what will be the final Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show of 2013.

The show will also be filmed and made available for viewing at www.absoluteradio.co.uk.
