200 new episodes of Pointless on the way!

Alexander Armstrong confirms a bright future for the daytime quiz show, which is also moving to a new home away from BBC Television Centre

There’s a very bright future for the BBC1 quiz show Pointless, according to Alexander Armstrong.

Speaking backstage at the National Television Awards 2013, he said, “We just been commissioned to do 200 more Pointless episodes…”

He also admitted he was looking forward to moving into new studios. “Television Centre is closing down, so we’re moving to a new studio, Elstree Studios, in March.”

Pointless, presented by Armstrong and co-host Richard Osman, began in August 2009.  It became an instant hit with viewers for its quirky format and irreverent style of presenting.  There have so far been more than 350 episodes of the original series and over 30 celebrity specials.
