The X Factor is heading up north for this year’s live final, which will take place in Manchester at the city’s Manchester Central Conference Complex (formerly known as the G-Mex Centre) .
It’s the first time since the show began in 2004 that the final has been scheduled to take place outside London, and the event’s sponsor TalkTalk promises fans that 2012’s winner-crowning sing-off will be “one of the most thrilling entertainment events of the year.”
Long-standing X Factor judge Louis Walsh said of this year’s finale: “Our live final is going to be another major event – so The X Factor 2012 has everything! I believe it’s going to be our best series yet.”
Last year’s X Factor final, held at Wembley Arena, saw girl band Little Mix emerge as the series’ winners in front of an audience of 12,500 people, and TalkTalk are offering fans 10,000 free tickets to this year’s event, which will be made available via the company’s Facebook page from Saturday 25 August.
Tristia Clarke, Commercial Director of TalkTalk said: “We can’t wait to take The X Factor Live Finals to Manchester for the first time.
“This year we helped to create the mobile auditions which recruited talent from all over the country and we’re delighted that 10,000 of our customers will have the chance to join us at the finals in Manchester.”
