Kanye West is developing a video game about his late mother

The rapper's first gaming venture is based on his song Only One

Not satisfied with being a rapper/songwriter/record producer/director/fashion designer/entrepreneur, Kanye West is adding another title to his business card: video game developer.

“Right now I’m working on a video game for Only One”, West said on the breakfast show on Power 105.1 radio, referring to a song about his late mother. “The idea is that it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light. We’ve been working on it for, like, six months.”

Only One is a tribute to West’s daughter sung from the perspective of his late mother, Donda West, and features vocals by Paul McCartney.

It’s unknown whether West’s fans will be helping his mother journey to the afterlife on games consoles or their mobile phones, but the polymath will presumably be hoping it can match the success of his wife’s app Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which was released last June and earned $43 million in its first three months.
