Kellie Bright won’t put Strictly moves to use for Linda and Mick’s EastEnders wedding

Bright hasn’t been teaching Danny Dyer any ballroom steps ahead of their on-screen New Year nuptials – the day isn’t set to get quite that far…

EastEnders actress Kellie Bright continues to wow the Strictly Come Dancing judges with her moves, but she won’t get to put them to use when her character Linda Carter ties the knot – the wedding doesn’t get anywhere near a first dance.

“We don’t have a reception,” Bright told of Mick and Linda’s New Year’s Day celebration. “The wedding episode sort of ends… actually I shouldn’t tell you that. There’s no reception, so there’s no first dance. That’s all I’ll say.”

An EastEnders wedding not going to plan? Well, I never.

Bright’s professional dance partner Kevin Clifton, who joined the actress for a bit of a rehearsal, thinks the soap may have missed a trick.

“You could have choreographed the whole thing! ‘Learn this Foxtrot!’” he laughed.

But it seems missing a first dance will be the least of the couple’s troubles. Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised “a lot of big resolutions” are coming in the New Year, which will involve Danny Dyer donning something quite different to a morning suit.

“Danny’s been fitted for a wetsuit and he’s going into water…” Treadwell-Collins revealed at this year’s inaugural Radio Times Festival, as the conclusion to the dark Carters/Dean Wicks storyline looms.

“We are going to wrap it up. It needs to,” he confirmed.
