The upcoming trial of EastEnders icon Dot Branning (June Brown) for the murder of her son Nick will bring new guest stars to the BBC1 soap.
Courtroom scenes to be shown next month will see William Gaunt – star of The Champions and No Place Like Home – presiding as Judge St John Redmond, while former Bugs star Jaye Griffiths will grill Dot as prosecuting lawyer Helen Stritch.
Fighting Dot’s corner is Adrian Quinlan (played by ex-Casualty star Ben Turner), while Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) returns as Phil’s long-running brief after he seeks her help in freeing Dot.
Eugene Washington – who previously played the role of Mr Wagner in the Doctor Who episode School Reunion – will play the clerk of the court.
Viewers saw Dot arrested for Nick’s death during EastEnders’s 30th anniversary week back in February. Her trial is set to air on BBC1 from Friday 8 May.
