It looks like the new Voice coaches Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson still have some work to do after returning mentor will.i.am received the most positive mentions on Twitter.
The talent show was back for a third series on Saturday, kicking off with the blind auditions. As ever this sees the judges turn their chairs if they like what they hear and want an act on their team.
Sure, Kylie was there doing her thing, hiding behind her chair and whatnot (I’m pretty sure I’m already ‘Team Kylie’). But it’s the king of all things ‘dope’ who can claim to be the most popular coach, with will.i.am nabbing a 30% positivity rating.
In fact, Kylie wound up in third spot, after Ricky’s 22% just topped the Spinning Around star’s 21% positivity rating, according to The Virgin Media Hotlist.
Team Kylie was in there in numbers though, with 6,600 tweets referring to Ms Minogue compared to Will’s 1,500. Sir Tom Jones earned himself 1,927 tweets. But seeing Will help a contestant’s little girl up onto his chair helped propel the third-time coach’s popularity above his fellow coaches.
Lucky Ricky was the judge most associated with the word ‘love’. And even departed judge Danny O’Donoghue managed to total up more than 1,000 tweets of sadness at his departure.
We were of course following all of the 140-character action. Check out our selection of the best tweets of the night.
The Voice continues this Saturday 7:00pm on BBC1
