X Factor 2013 – meet Gary Barlow’s Judges’ Houses groups

Gary Barlow and his six top groups will head to New York for this year's Judges' Houses where Olly Murs will help choose which acts go through to lives

These six groups have a lot to celebrate. Having made it through this year’s brutal Bootcamp they’ll now fly with Gary Barlow to New York, where he’ll choose (with a little help from former X Factor star Olly Murs) which acts to take through to the live shows.

Rough Copy

AGE: Sterling (28) Joe (27)

OCCUPATION: Sterling (unemployed), Joe (Sales Assistant in New Look)

Originally, Rough Copy were made up of three members but visa issues have caused the band’s third member to have to make the tough decision to leave the group. Sterling and Joe continue to pursue their dreams to win The X Factor. The duo live together in a house in Croydon and perform at university events, charity and corporate functions as much as they can.

ROOM SONG: Do it Like a Dude – Jessie J

ARENA SONG: Little Things – One Direction

BOOTCAMP SONG: Stop Crying Your Heart Out – Oasis

Kingsland Road

LOCATION: East London

OCCUPATION: Connor (Bartender), Matt (Bartender), Jay (Nandos), Josh (Bartender), Thompson (Sales Assistant in All Saints)

After being told off for too many ‘thrustations’ in their first audition by Nicole Scherzinger, Gary is confient these guys have what it takes to be the next big boy band. Despite the five boys living together in cramped, shared accommodation, where three share one room and the other two share another, the boys still feel as though they are ‘living the dream’. They rehearsed so much in preparation for the show that three of the boys have lost their jobs. Their ultimate dream is to win The X Factor, take over America and then hopefully get their own bedrooms with bed-frames for their mattresses.

ROOM SONG: Don’t you Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia

ARENA SONG: Treasure You – Bruno Mars

BOOTCAMP SONG: For Once in My Life – Stevie Wonder

Code 4

LOCATION: Ryan (SE London), Jordan (Stratford), Jermaine (Birmingham)

OCCUPATION: Jordan (unemployed), Ryan (Dance teacher), Jermaine (Podium Dancer at Gatecrasher and Oceana)

Even the other judges wanted Gary to choose this group, who are hoping to bring something new to the industry. The band formed two years ago, with Jermaine joining in April; fourth band member Mark recently left the band. They rehearse vocally at each other’s houses, but practise dance routines at a local studio five times a week.

ROOM SONG: Caught Up – Usher

ARENA SONG: Like I Love You – Justin Timberlake

BOOTCAMP SONG: Wake Me Up – Avicii

New girl band

AGE:  Jeanette (21), Rielle (16), SeSe (22),

LOCATION: SeSe (London), Jeanette (Romford Essex, originally from South Africa), Rielle (Manchester)

OCCUPATION: SeSe (Full-time mum), Jeanette (Beauty consultant), Rielle (Student)

Gary took a chance on these girls and formed a band after they’d not made it through their other auditions. SeSe was originally part of band Dynamix and Jeanette and Rielle auditioned in the girls’ category. Having only been together a short while, mentor Gary decided to swap them into his top six.

BOOTCAMP SONG: We Found Love – Rhianna

Brick City

OCCUPATION: Y (Barmaid), J (Sales Assistant in a shoe shop), A (Carer), D (Youth worker)

Brick City has only been together since the beginning of the year but say that they are practically like ‘family’ now and instantly caught the attention of the X Factor judges. Anton lives with Duane and his nan, while Yasmin lives at home as does James.

ROOM SONG: Locked out of Heaven – Bruno Mars

ARENA SONG: No More Drama – Mary J Blidge

BOOTCAMP SONG: Like a Prayer – Bon Jovi

OCCUPATION: All work in promotions

XYRA can usually be found busking in Covent Garden and on the tube. They all work together in promotions and sometimes have to dress up in costumes. They have been gummy bears, chicken nuggets and Sonic The Hedgehog! Could this be the next band to win the X Factor?

ROOM SONG: Stay – Rhianna

ARENA SONG: Earthquake – Labrinth

BOOTCAMP SONG: Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
