Famous for: her good looks and being married to Premier League footballer Peter Crouch
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can’t buy this experience, and to hopefully come out of it with a new skill would be great.”
Bio: Model Abbey Clancy first tried to make it in the music industry in girl band Genie Queen but had more luck in the second series of Britain’s Next Top model where she got as far as the final show.
Despite not winning, Abbey used the show as a spring board for her career as a model and she soon went on star on the cover of Arena, Sports Illustrated and Esquire, to name but a few…
As well as charming an entire generation of teenage boys (we assume) the leggy blonde also attracted the attention of footballer Peter Crouch… The pair had a little girl together in 2011 and tied the knot a few months later.
When it comes to TV work, Abbey hasn’t half been busy. She’s starred in Hell’s Kitchen, The Ultimate Bikini Guide, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, Jonathan Ross, GMTV, This Morning, The Fashion Show, James Corden’s World Cup Live… the list goes on and on. She even had her own reality TV show called Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best, which saw her trying to break America’s modelling scene with the help of Janice Dickinson… Phew!
Now she’s set to take on Strictly. There’s no doubt she’ll look great in the skimpy, sequined dresses. But who knows whether she’ll be able to coordinate those long, lithe limbs…
We may know nothing about Abbey’s dancing ability. But there’s a chance her husband’s infamous dance moves have rubbed off on her…
Here is Abbey talking about summer lingerie on This Morning:
