It's official. We're all pretty hyped about the new Fifty Shades of Grey film.
Just like EL James' readers, social media got a bit over-excited when the first trailer was released last week. In fact, so many of you have watched Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson's steamy antics that it's already accrued more views in a week than any other trailer in 2014, racking up an impressive 26.4 million hits on YouTube, according to tech firm Zefr, despite only being released on 24 July.
Fifty Shades has smashed the record of previous holder Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which released its first footage at the end of March, scoring 31 million views. Godzilla and Transformers: Age of Extinction have also had impressive debuts, both notching up 26.3 million hits in their opening weeks.
It bodes pretty well for the much-anticipated film's release next year. Transformers grossed a whopping £569.5m worldwide when it was released in June, while Godzilla has collected £294m.
But we'll have to wait until 14th February 2015 to find out whether the Fifty Shades trailer puts bums on seats. In the meantime, you know you want to...
