Casualty fans are about to get an injection of youthful exuberance, with two new junior doctors about to enter the portals of Holby City Hospital.

They are dashing Rashid Mahsoon, played by Neet Mohan, and Bea Kinsella, a flame-haired Irishwoman played by newcomer Michelle Fox.

“Rashid will be innocent, cautious and nice,” according to sources on the BBC1 show. Eagle-eyed viewers can spot his new character in the autumn trailer.

His colleague and fellow newcomer Bea is quite the opposite, apparently.

“Gutsy and ambitious,” are the words of an on-set source who says she comes with intriguing secrets: her mother left when she was younger, but she has been supporting her alcoholic father who she has refused to leave behind.

Fox can be currently seen in the BBC3 drama Overshadowed in which her character, a lively 17-year-old vlogger called Imogene, battles with anorexia.

Casualty’s new junior doctors begin filming their first scenes this month and are likely to make their on screen debuts towards the end of the year.
