Emmerdale’s Rhona has been left feeling fearful in her own home after deciding to drop her rape claim. And having not named Pierce as the perpetrator during the police interview, her husband remains at large and in a state of denial as regards his crime.
Scenes just broadcast saw Rhona return to the village following an eleventh-hour panic as she recounted the circumstances surrounding the sexual assault. Despite assurances that she wasn’t to blame, Rhona left the police station in a state of distress and headed back to her house, only to find a chillingly calm Pierce waiting for her.
When it turned out that Pierce still had every intention of taking her away on honeymoon, Rhona threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave. Pierce then decided to make a temporary exit in order to give Rhona the chance to “calm down”.
After picking Leo up from Marlon’s – where she made a vague reference to being somehow to blame for what had happened – Rhona was seen putting her son to bed, obviously petrified about what would happen should Pierce come back to the house.
Whether Rhona reconsiders her options and gets back in touch with the police remains to be seen. But Emmerdale fans won’t have long to wait until they find out: the ITV soap returns for a double bill tomorrow at 7:00 and 8:00pm.
