Coronation Street: David to blow up the Platts following shock escape?

Get set for an explosive Corrie double bill tonight

There are explosive times ahead on Coronation Street this evening after a deranged David Platt escapes from the Bistro cellar and tries to carry out his lethal revenge plot.

Corrie viewers have seen already seen David locked up in the Bistro cellar by Gail, Nick and Sarah as they tried to stop him from killing both himself and Kylie’s murderer Clayton Hibbs.

But this evening’s double bill sees David managing to break free and – driven by his thirst for revenge – he manages to get into the death trap car that he’s already filled with petrol containers.

As these new images show, Gail and Nick desperately try to stop David driving off in the car, but armed with a lighter, he threatens to blow them all up unless they move out of his way.

So is this the end of David? And might he be taking his nearest and dearest with him too?

Says actor Jack P Shepherd: “Let’s just say that he gets the better of Gail and Nick – but it’s what happens after he escapes that has huge consequences for many people.”
