Johnny Carter will be Ted Reilly’s first major television role, though you may recognise him from bit parts in dramas such as Call The Midwife, Casualty, Grantchester, and Law & Order: UK.
Reilly was re-cast as the baby of the Carter family earlier this year after an extensive search that also involved his on-screen parents Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright (Mick and Linda Carter, respectively).
In an interview with Radio Times, Reilly revealed that he got the call to come in for EastEnders after an audition for Casualty that “didn’t go that well”.
He made his first appearance during the closing moments of an episode airing on 11th April 2016.
Johnny Carter (originally portrayed by Sam Strike) first appeared at the end of 2013 when his family moved to Watford.
He left Albert Square only a year later to travel abroad with his boyfriend Gianluca—but with that relationship now over, he’s making his return to Walford and the Carter family.
