EastEnders recasts Jordan Johnson – Lucas’s son to be played by Doctor Who actor Joivan Wade

Jordan is to return as an angry and damaged young man in the coming weeks

EastEnders is to bring back Denise’s stepson Jordan Johnson, last seen on the BBC1 soap in 2010.

Viewers have already heard Jordan referenced in relation to a recent police arrest but will be seen returning to the Square in the coming weeks, now played by actor Joivan Wade.

The 22-year-old previously played the character of Rigsy in Doctor Who and was also a regular in BBC1 sitcom Big School.

Scenes to be shown in February will see Denise (Diane Parish) grow increasingly worried by further reports of Jordan’s bad behaviour. Having already made contract with the lad’s imprisoned dad – serial killer Lucas (actor Don Gilet will also be back again this spring) – Denise will become determined to track Jordan down.

Jordan originally left Walford to live with his aunt but returns an angry and damaged young man who will turn Denise and her family’s lives upside down. Said a show insider, “Denise can still see the good in her stepson but viewers will be left fearing that volatile Jordan takes very much after his father. As Denise makes inroads with Jordan, viewers will all fear that she’s putting herself, her family and the entire Square in danger”.

Speaking about his signing, Joivan Wade said: “Coming into EastEnders is an absolute dream. Jordan is going through a very tough time and needs people in his corner but with a Dad like Lucas will he be able to trust anyone? It’s going to be brilliant to play him and I can’t wait to get started.”
